Parents,

It is hard to believe summer break is here.  Tonight we graduate 119 students from Cardinal Ritter High School.  What a great year we experienced!  Next year brings even more opportunities for our students as we partner with Lionfish Cybersecurity and Armor Air and with Indiana University and the Indiana College Core.  We are also providing even more dual credit classes which will help our students get a heads start in college.

This summer your child has a summer reading book and a reading journal to complete.  This is due when they return to school in the fall.  We will also be sending reminders about our summer uniform sale where your child can try on sample sizes, and we will have used uniforms as well.  These sales are Friday, July 12 from 3 to 6 pm and Saturday, July 13 from 10-12 in the Cardinal Ritter gym.

To our graduating class, you will be missed.  I pray that in the next part of your journey you will look for God’s presence and notice all of the blessings around you.  You have been a blessing to me.  As you journey into the world, remember to Live the Fourth.

To all of our parents, thank you for sending your students to CRHS.  We look forward to partnering with you again next year.

Have a wonderful summer!

In Christ’s Peace,

Kari Jost, Principal

Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.

Summer Schedule and Camp Information

Summer League Schedule

** Varsity and JV potentials will be playing at Center Grove HS on Wednesday nights this summer. Game start times vary between 6:00, 7:00, and 8:00. Teams will play 2 and sit one (ref while sitting). The level of competition is perfect for CR. Competing schools include: Center Grove, Southport, Whiteland, and Trinity Lutheran. Attending these games is VERY important as we will take opportunities to try players in different positions, and or play with chemistry options.

Week 1:

June 5.

This will be the first time we meet as a team this summer. I would like to see all players compete at the most raw and vulnerable stage. Who will take the lead? Who is willing to follow when most appropriate? How will you work together as a team with limited/no time to organize? I would like to identify potential leaders based on raw performance (which includes behavioral examples etc.). Week 1 will be for returning CRHS (Sophomore-Senior) players ONLY. This is going to change. We will be inviting more players including Freshman as the summer progresses, and alternating weeks if our numbers are high! We want to give everyone the opportunity to compete in this league.

Spectators: $5 Adults 12 and under = FREE

Varsity Court 2:

6:00 Ritter v. Whiteland

7:00 Ref

8:00 Ritter v. Trinity Lutheran

** Please schedule a window between 6-9 for Volleyball on Wednesday nights. I will update attending players, teams, and game schedule weekly. All players are not guaranteed to play every weekend. Please be on the lookout for registration details within the next few days for week 1.

MUNCIANA TEAM CAMP

** It is a BIG DEAL we got in the very prestigious Munciana Summer Team Camps. The training at these camps is INTENSIVE and is not for the weak! Here is some of the basic information. THIS CAMP IS RESERVED FOR SOPHOMORE-SENIOR players. Freshman will also have a team camp in July but we are still working out details!

  1. This will be first come first serve and is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. They will allow 12 per team JV and Varsity (24 total). I will provide the link, watch the numbers, and when registration is full it will be cut off!!!
  2. This camp is, unfortunately, not cheap at $150/athlete, and at this point it is up to the parents of the individual to pay for their spot. Because it is costly it is not required, but again, HIGHLY ENCOURAGED.
  3. Here is the link to register and pay! Good luck!

Parents,

If your student is registered to take Summer School classes through Achieve Virtual, an email was sent to all parents/guardians on May 17th with important information for logging in to their account prior to beginning their class(es) on June 3rd. Please be sure to check your spam folder as well. More information was posted on your student's Google Classroom page. Please reach out to Achieve with any questions:  317-988-8450 or  achieve.registration@wayne.k12.in.us

Senior Parents,

If your student has taken a dual credit course in high school, they will want to request a transcript from the university that is awarding the credit. Your student will want to send that transcript to the school that they will be attending. The links below give instructions on how to make the transcript requests. Please have them wait to place the request until the end of June for final grades to be posted.

Indiana State has two summer opportunities this year through our Summer Honors Program and Makers Week. Summer Honors and Makers Week are programs for high school students graduating in 2025 or 2026 and will be held July 14th - 20th, 2024 on the campus of Indiana State University.

Students can explore an academic interest in a seminar and earn University credit through college-level course work. Students experience living in a residence hall and enjoy campus life activities in the evenings.

The Summer Honors 2024 program fee is $425*. This includes all meals, housing, seminar books and supplies, and seminar-sponsored activities. There are scholarship opportunities awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for those participating in the 21st Century Scholar program or students eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch to cover the entire cost of the program.

If you have students who you believe to be stellar candidates for this program, please encourage them to apply by June 7th. For a printable flyer, click here.
