Tuesday’s Children provides a lifetime of healing for those whose lives have
been forever changed by terrorism or traumatic loss. Through a time-tested,
long-term approach, Tuesday’s Children programming serves and supports our nation’s military Families of the Fallen; builds resilience and common bonds in communities worldwide recovering from tragedies; and keeps the promise to support all those impacted by 9/11.

Dear Tuesday's Children Friends, Families and Supporters,
As we celebrate the signing of long-awaited legislation that will ensure support for the many thousands of brave men and women who have become ill due to their service at Ground Zero, we look in admiration at the relentless work of Tuesday's Children's long-time friend and advocate John Feal, as well as Jon Stewart, neither of whom would rest until this hard-fought battle was won. Tuesday's Children will provide a continuum of care to the more than 2,000 families that have lost a 9/11 responder and will continue to support the families of responders suffering from 9/11-related illnesses. The ripple effect of 9/11 is significant, and Tuesday's Children will Never Forget.
This week, in Washington, D.C., we kick-off our 12th annual Project COMMON BOND summer program, where we will be welcoming young adults from 13 nations for a week of healing, fun and peacebuilding. These young victims of terrorism, war and mass violence, continue to find this global community a safe haven unlike anything they have experienced. The program has touched the lives of over 750 children from nearly 30 nations thus far. If you haven't viewed the CBS news piece on the program, please

Mentor Spotlight: Kat and Mia
Kat is ambitious, motivated and eager to make the world a better place for everyone she meets. She moved from the Philippines at age 10 and taught herself English. Currently, she is a law student interning at a firm that supports abused children.
Wanting to help youth in both her job and personal life, Kat gravitated to the Tuesday's Children Youth Mentoring Program and was paired up with Mia.
Mia, who just turned 16, is an only child and avid dancer who lives with her mom in Brooklyn. She's currently soaking up all that being a teenager has to offer, taking part in her 5th sweet 16 court this month!
While they have some differences
—
Kat can't stand seafood, which Mia loves—they share more than enough similarities. Both young women are avid readers and writers with a passion for exploring NYC and trying new restaurants.
They hope to bond over Manhattan adventures, trips to the movies and Korean fried chicken!

Shadow Day and Finance Workshop with the Woodpeckers
Earlier this month, Tuesday's Children families participated in a Career Resource Center program at Segra Stadium, home of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers. While the adults engaged in a Financial 101 workshop, courtesy of State Farm, our Gold Star kids enjoyed a private tour of the stadium, learning about the inner workings of sports management. All enjoyed watching a Woodpeckers victory later that evening.
Thank you to State Farm, Kim Conyers, Jennifer Young and the Woodpeckers for this wonderful day!
