Seeking Talented Mural Artist for Marina Club Project
The Marina Club Restaurant, especially the Private Dining Room space is undergoing a face lift!  A new window opening has been installed by cove staff permitting natural sunlight to illuminate the room along with the current ceiling lights.  In order to complete the vision for this room we are calling on all cove artists to extend their talents to paint a landscape mural on the rear wall above the chair rail depicting the natural beauty of this area.  The mural may include subject matter such as the Chincoteague Bay, complete with grassy area for duck hunting, some fishing boats on the Bay and maybe even the Assateague lighthouse with Chincoteague ponies grazing nearby.  This mural would become the focal point of this room and as such would be used by many of our guests as a photo opportunity.  We are creating opportunities for our current patrons and a destination with opportunities for our new patrons.  The particulars for this project are as follows:

  • Wall dimensions are (7 foot tall x 23 foot wide)
  • Artists are asked to submit a conceptual drawing to the receptionist at the Marina Club no later than March 3, 2017.
  • This project is open to all artists in our area with preference being given to "cove" artists. The artist may sign his/her artwork and use it as their very own marketing tool for possible future business.
  • Cove residents will be given the opportunity to select/vote on their favorite drawing from those which are submitted.
  • Painting of the mural may begin as early as April 1, 2017.  Access to the Private Dining Room wall will be granted during times when the restaurant is not open to the public.
  • Actual painting of the mural should be completed by May 1, 2017.
  • Any compensation or costs associated with the production of the "mural" should be stated when the conceptual drawing is submitted.  Please keep in mind that we have a limited budget to work with, as this project was not included in our 2017 budget.
Our sincerest thanks for lending your talents to this project.  We are always looking for new opportunities to create a better experience for our members and guests.
