Greetings,
School's out for summer!
If you are like me, you've begun thinking about vacation. Maybe you already know when and where you are going and what you will do when you arrive. My favorite place to vacation is the beach. The sunrises and sunsets, the sun-kissed skin, collecting seas shells, cute bathing suits and flip flops are all part of the beach experience. I love it all. But what I love most is being reminded how AWESOME God is through His creation and beauty of the ocean. To me it feels like a slice of Heaven on Earth.
Have you ever asked yourself “Where Does God Go for His Summer Vacation?” Do you think that God would ever like to take a break from us? In Psalm 139:7-10 it says...
Where can I go to escape your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.
If I fly on the wings of the dawn
and settle down on the western horizon,
even there your hand will lead me;
your right hand will hold on to me.
Here David describes how God is everywhere. Even when we get away, God is still with us. God doesn’t just “camp out” in one place or another. We should feel good that God is every where, all the time. He is always by our side. He never takes a vacation or a day off from us! Amen!
As you go on vacation this summer, take time as a family to talk about God's constant presence. Pray together with your kids and thank God for the things you all get to see, smell, taste, touch and hear on your vacation. Remember, God is the one who made it all and He made it for our good.
All for the children,
