Cannon Beach Fat Bike Festival -
Explore, Ride, and Play!
MAY 17-19, 2024
Welcome to the ultimate Fat Bike Adventure at the Cannon Beach Fat Bike Festival 2024! Join us for a weekend filled with thrilling events as we pedal through the scenic landscapes and charming community of Cannon Beach. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just getting started, there's something for everyone at this year's festival.
2024 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday, May 17
5-6:30 PM | Packet Pick Up & social gathering (Public Coast Brewing Co., 264 E 3rd St) - Hop on your bike, get checked in, enjoy a complimentary beverage, mingle with fellow riders, grab a bite on your own, and join us for the scenic sunset ride!
6:30-7:30 PM | Fat Bike Sunset Ride - Kick off the weekend adventure in style! We're rolling out from Public Coast Brewing Co. at 6:30 PM for a sunset beach ride, cruising along Ecola Creek and making our way to the iconic Haystack Rock. Let the good times and the ocean breeze fuel your Fat Bike fun!
Saturday, May 18
12:00-2:30 PM | NEW THIS YEAR, Fat Bike Adventure Quest - The quest will begin with your first clue at the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce Community Hall (207 North Spruce). Whether riding solo or with a team, participants will navigate the town, completing tasks at various locations to earn clues for the next checkpoint. Challenges range from mental puzzles to physical feats, ensuring a dynamic, engaging adventure that celebrates speed, strategy, and teamwork. Whether racing against the clock individually or collaborating with a team, the goal remains the same - be the first to reach the finish line!
2:30-4:30 PM | Fat Bike Beach Ride to Hug Point - Meet at the Chamber of Commerce at 2:30 PM for a guided 13-mile beach ride to Hug Point and back. Enjoy a picturesque ride past Haystack Rock, along the old "Oregon Beach Highway," and to the beautiful waterfall at Hug Point. Staff will be scattered throughout points on the ride to assure rider safety.
4:30-6:30 PM | Beach Party and Fat Bike Olympics - After our waterfall ride, we'll pedal straight to Tolovana Beach Recreation Site (on the beach in front of Mo's Restaurant) for awesome fat bike games, races, local brews by Pelican Brewing Co., snacks, and good times with new friends. Imagine a stretch of beach filled with laughter and excitement!
Sunday, May 19
12-2 PM | NEW THIS YEAR, Guided Mountain Bike Rides at Klootchy Creek Trails - Join members of the Northwest Trail Alliance (local bike club) on this fun guided ride of the local mountain bike trail system. This ride is excellent on your acoustic fat bike or Class 1 e-bike. The local bike club maintains this system, but the trails are on private land, and the landowners do not allow any bikes that have a throttle. There will be options for intermediate to advanced-level riders. A link to Trailforks to download the maps directly to your mobile device can be found here. A free access permit from Nuveen Natural Capital is Required. Click here to sign up online. Create an account, then request an Oregon Permit.
Here is a link to where to park & meet to ride the trails: Klootchy Creek. Google Map here.
