The 2023 CPM Early Career Seed Funding recipient is Jordan Curry, BSc (Hons), PGCert, MSc, AFHEA. Jordan is an Academic Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Research Associate on the CANBENEFIT II and CANFit trials at the Hull York Medical School and Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre at the University of Hull, UK. He is completing his PhD in Medical Sciences with a focus on exercise oncology and digital technology. His project, "Understanding barriers and facilitators to implementing exercise interventions for patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment: a qualitative study," will explore the barriers and facilitators that could influence the multilevel implementation of exercise alongside ICI treatment to inform intervention development and future trial design. Congratulations, Jordan!
Jordan will also present his doctoral research process and findings on the feasibility and acceptability of ExerciseGuide UK, a web-based platform offering personalised physical activity programmes and educational resources for individuals living with and beyond lung cancer. Through a mixed-methods approach, Jordan co-designed ExerciseGuide UK iteratively with patient and public involvement members. The presentation will highlight the steps taken during his doctoral journey and share valuable insights gained through this research, shedding light on the importance of patient engagement in the development of such resources.
