Expanded Paid Sick Leave Approved for UC Employees: In another step forward for the University of California’s support of work-life balance, the UC will significantly expand access to paid sick leave effective Jan. 1, 2025. The UC also plans to expand paid leave options for sick leave purposes for represented staff employees and academic appointees, subject to applicable collective bargaining requirements. Read more »

UCSF Receives Major Donation for First Continuous AI-Monitoring Platform: With a new $5 million gift from Ken and Kathy Hao, the UCSF Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation and UCSF Health will develop the first continuous AI-monitoring platform. This effort, led by Julia Adler-Milstein, PhD, and Sara Murray, MD, MAS, vice president, chief health AI officer for UCSF Health, will ensure AI technologies in health care are safe, effective and equitable by providing ongoing and autonomous monitoring in real time.
