Great Hearts Arlington would like to offer financial assistance for after-school care, school supplies, uniforms, and Summer programs to students who qualify. If you would like to apply for financial assistance through Great Hearts, please complete the online form HERE by Monday, May 31, 2021. After we have had time to review the application and determine your qualifications, you will be contacted with the eligibility results between June 7th-11th.
For your information, we base our eligibility on income levels equal to those who qualify for free and reduced lunches. This application only applies to early registration for after-school care, EduKits, uniforms vouchers, and summer programs. Due to the deadline we have for placing our school supply orders through EduKit, any applications received after May 31, 2021 will not be eligible to receive assistance with EduKits.
Please note the online form does not qualify you for Free or Reduced Lunch program (FRL). The official 2021-2022 FRL application will be available in summer (Late July 2021). If you would like to apply for Free or Reduced Lunch program, you will need to complete that form separately. Watch the newsletter for more information.

As a parent and/or guardian you have joined a community of like-minded families dedicated to the success of Great Hearts Arlington and its students. Our PSO provides parents with the tools to make every child's potential a reality.
Great Hearts Arlington is currently seeking individuals who would like to be on the PSO Board. If you are interested in serving in an Officer position or volunteering for the 2021-2022 school year please contact rosa.tovar-curiel@greatheartsarlington.org. There is no fee and everyone is a member!

Jessica Turner
Lower School Dean
Welcome to Great Hearts Arlington! My name is Jessica Turner and I am going to be a Dean. This will be my first year in administration after ten years of being a classroom teacher.
I grew up in Colorado Springs and am the oldest of six children. I then graduated with a Bachelors in Education from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. I have taken a couple of classes towards a Masters in Special Education.
I have taught first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and fifth in the last ten years in Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, as well as fifth through eighth grade music. I have been with Great Hearts for two years.
Some of my favorite hobbies are hiking, biking, and playing piano or violin.
What I love about teaching is the ah-ha moments, the unique Socratic discussions that we have at Great Hearts, and watching my students grow in virtue. I love showing forgiveness, giving second chances, and being a role model for our students.

Justin Mcgee
Middle School Dean
Justin McGee comes to Great Hearts Arlington after 7 years of teaching humanities and 13 years of coaching at both the middle school and upper school levels.
This past school year, Mr. McGee was a teacher's consultant with the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture's Cowan Center for Education -- training and supporting teachers in a local school district.
When he is not at school, you can find Mr. McGee spending time with friends and family, leading trips for organizations all over the world, enjoying a good cup of coffee, playing sports, or reading a newly found collection of poems.
He is excited about serving the community of Great Hearts as we -- together -- seek "to cultivate minds and hearts of students through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty!"

The Texas Public Charter School Association has been tracking the non-discrimination bill -- HB1348 – that would prohibit cities and municipalities from creating a separate set of rules for charter schools to open and operate. The bill has been sitting in the House Calendars Committee for nearly a month, after which it must be scheduled for a vote on the House floor. Stay tuned for updates and action alerts on this priority legislation through the Texas Public Charter School Association by signing up here.
