THIS WEEK: COUGAR TALK, CAMPO 101 September 15, 9-10am. Come meet Principal Alvarez and other key admin in the library in a casual setting and learn about important topics around Campo followed by Q&A. 


NEW: CAMPO SERVICE AWARDS--KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HOURS Students who volunteer in the community may be eligible for a Service Award. Completed hours and applications will be accepted no later than April 21, 2023. There is a new online only application process this year and we are returning to the 30 hour minimum. For details, guidelines, and application information, please visit the Volunteer Service Award page on the Campo website or visit CPC Volunteer Service Award on the CPC website.

NEW: ODYSSEY OF THE MIND INFORMATION SESSION September 14 This is a creative, problem-solving program for students from kindergarten through college. Teams are forming now for this year's tournament. Click here for flyer.


CSF APPLICATIONS The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) application will be completed online this semester and the submission window will run from September 1-September 23. CSF is a statewide organization that honors outstanding high school students for their academic achievements based upon each semester's grades. Complete information about CSF, including the online application form that must be completed to qualify for membership, can be found here. Questions? Contact Duane Magno in the Counseling Office.


ARSHAY COOPER EVENT Join us September 19, 6:30-7:30pm at the Acalanes Performing Arts Center for this can’t miss event: an interactive chat with Arshay Cooper. His book, “A Most Beautiful Thing,” is a true story of a group of young men growing up on Chicago's West side who transform their lives when they form the first all-black high-school rowing team in the nation. The film adaptation of the book is star-studded and streaming now on Peacock and Amazon Prime. It is narrated by rapper Common, and executive produced by Common and NBA stars Grant Hill and Dwayne Wade, along with Grammy-winning producer 9th Wonder. Read flyer here.

CPC COMMITTEE OPENINGS The Campo Parents Club is still looking for a few parents to help lead some activities. We need someone to lead Campus Clean Up, to help co-chair Parent Ed, and to lead Emergency Prep. If you are interested or would like more info, contact the CPC President.

NEW: MORAGA ROTARY SEPTEMBER SPEAKERS Moraga Rotary's weekly speakers will feature Campo Football Coach Kevin Macy on September 27. See flyer for details.


GIRLS LACROSSE Interested in trying out for Girls Lacrosse in the spring? Come out to play Fall Ball! Fall Ball is intended to sharpen skills, work on fundamentals and invite new players to come learn the game. Practice starts on the turf on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-8:30pm for 6 weeks starting Tuesday, September 20 and going through Thursday, October 27. You will need a stick, cleats (soccer cleats work) and eye goggles. We are asking for a $40/player donation for Fall Ball. Register here.


AWAY FOOTBALL GAME LIVE-STREAM BROADCAST As we continue to evolve our Live-stream Athletic Broadcasts, we're experimenting with taking our broadcasts 'on the road' to cover a few of the Campo Football Away games. Check nfhsnetwork.com to see if the game you're interested in viewing will be broadcast (instructions for setting up your free NFHS Broadcast account can be found here).

CAMPO FOOTBALL TICKETS Tickets for Home football games can be purchased in advance using GoFan. Cash sales for regular season home games will still be available at the ticket booth. Free admission for Home football games for Campo Booster Card holders and ASB stickers for students. General Admission $10, Student/Senior $5.

NEW: CAREER ASSESSMENT ACADEMIES October 19 & 21 We are hosting a 2-part Career Assessment to help students learn how to identify their career interests and research compatible jobs.  

  • Part 1, October 19: Take the career assessment and see the results
  • Part 2, October 21: Learn how to research compatible jobs, including education requirements, what the work involves, how the field is trending, salary, location, etc.  

Open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Sign up for BOTH sessions on Teachmore under Batcheller.  


TOMORROW: HBCU (HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES) RECRUITMENT FAIR September 13, 9:00am-12:00pm, Deer Valley High School Gymnasium, Antioch. This is an amazing recruitment opportunity. Students can apply on the spot and a lot of scholarships are awarded. If enough students sign up, the District will provide a bus. The fair is for seniors only. Students need to come prepared (with a copy of their unofficial transcript, a resume or essay, any SAT or ACT scores not already showing on their transcript). Register here.


FIRST GENERATION/FOREIGN STUDENT UNION LUNCH HANGOUT Will you be first-generation-to-college or are you from another country and want to meet other like-minded students to learn about the college and career process? CAMPOLINDO WELLNESS CENTER

SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. Education is key to prevention! Being aware of the signs associated with suicide, suicide facts and statistics, and how to get support for at-risk youth can help save lives. Never be reluctant to get involved and always take your child's desire or intent to harm themselves seriously. DONATIONS NEEDED! The Campo Wellness Center is looking for a few outdoor items for our new space. If you’re thinking about buying new outdoor furniture for next year, the Wellness Center could really use some umbrellas for shade and planter boxes for flowers. If you can help, please email Amy Spillane.

CAMPOLINDO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING

DRIVERS NEEDED FOR CAMPO'S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STUDENT CLUB On Friday mornings in September, members of Campo's diversity and inclusion student club, the Cultivate Thinking Club, will provide age-appropriate DEIB classroom lessons and activities to 5th graders at each of Moraga's local Elementary schools. We are in need of drivers to transport student club members to-and-from the elementary schools between 10-11am. If you are available to drive on one (or several) of these Fridays, please sign up here.

NEW: UC APPLICATION ACADEMY September 28 & 30 in the College & Career Center. Our very own Mr. Magno is an application reader for UC Berkeley. He will be talking about how to present your best UC application and how to avoid common mistakes. Since the talk on both days will be identical, students can register for only ONE of these two academies. Space is limited to 30 students. Register under Batcheller in Teachmore.
