Campesinos: Workers of the Land
April 8 - May 24, 2020

Hi to All!

Currently The PVA Gallery is closed. We plan to reopen on April 8, and will be open during our regular operating hours 11:00-4:00, Wednesday-Sunday as long as we are healthy, and are in compliance with our state and local health recommendations. Expect the "white-glove" treatment, and a diligent team who are following COVID-19 protocols.

What can we say that hasn't been expressed already? While the "show must go on" we must keep our audience safe. On a daily basis, we have 10-15 visitors. When the show opens, we ask that you follow social distancing practices.

We are saddened that so few people will have the opportunity to see our amazing new show, Campesinos: Workers of the Land, in person. We understand that you may not be willing or able to join us in the gallery. However, there is a way to visit this show from the comfort of your own home. The virtual tour of Campesinos, showing each and every artwork in the exhibit, will be posted on the PVA website as soon as the shelter in place order is lifted. We ask that you take the virtual tour; toast our artists with your favorite beverage; let us know what you think of the show and share your thoughts on social media. If you see a piece of art you would like to purchase, and can't come into the gallery, call us or email briana@pvarts.org, and we will give you the details.

Do you need an art fix? Take this or any of the other gallery tours we have posted to our website for the last three years. Check them out: https://pvarts.org/virtual-tours/. Or click on one of our more recent tours below.

We would like to thank the individuals who have produced this extraordinary exhibit: Consuelo Alba who conceptualized the exhibit and juried the artwork; Gabriel Medina and Judy Stabile, co-curators and jurors; the hanging team, Ome Garcia, Lyn Macdonald, Judy Stabile, and Teresa Zolar; clean up team, Chris Miroyan and Carol Walberg; education team, Shirley Flores Munoz, Karen Lemon, and Ana Paula Teeple who worked so hard on our educational events and are working on curriculum development; and our staff Hedwig, Linda and Brianna. We thank our talented artists who delivered work amid rumors and speculation, with faith that we would "do the right thing" in relation to showing their work. Our hope is that their collective voice will be heard and their artwork will be seen.

Stay connected, healthy and safe.
Warm Regards,

PVA Board of Directors: Trina Coffman-Gomez, Shirley Flores Munoz, Ome Garcia, Aurelio Gonzalez, Beth Shields, Judy Stabile, Ana Paula Teeple
