Summer camp is in full swing, and what a fun, faith-filled summer it has been! As we approach the final two weeks of camp, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible Camp Director, Sam Marxsen, and her dedicated team. Their hard work and enthusiasm have made this season truly special for all our campers.



We’re looking ahead to an equally busy fall with many opportunities for youth and adults alike to gather at Camp Weed. Read on to learn more and join us!

Dining Services Transition:

Farewell to Teri Hokanson and Next Steps

We are sad to announce that Teri Hokanson, our amazing Culinary Services Director, will be leaving Camp Weed to be closer to her son in Orlando. For the past two years, Teri has worked tirelessly to care for our guests and campers with delicious, nutritious food and a spirit of hospitality. We are so grateful for her dedication. Please join us with prayers for her next venture.


We are grateful to Paul Mehalko who is stepping in temporarily. Paul worked with Camp Henry and Cerveny Conference Center from 1985 to 2007 and recently retired after a long career in food service.


Camp Weed is searching for our next Director of Dining Services. The job description is available here. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to Lauri SoJourner, Interim Executive Director as soon as possible. Application review has already begun.

100th Anniversary Celebration

From its beginnings in 1924 at St. Augustine Beach to this year’s summer camp the lives of thousands of people have been transformed by this ministry.

Fall Cursillo Registration is Open

Cursillo is a three-day learning, sharing, inspirational experience of living in a Christian community. The objective of the Cursillo movement is to make Christian community possible in neighborhoods, parishes, work situations, and other places where people live the greater part of their lives.

Yoga and Christian Contemplative

Prayer Retreat this Fall

The Bishop's Institute for Ministry and Leadership invites you to attend a Yoga and Christian Contemplative Prayer Retreat this Fall on Friday, September 27 - 29.


Megan Cochran will lead the yoga sessions and our retreat chaplain leading prayer will be The Very Rev. Kate Moorehead Carroll. This retreat follows in line with several very much appreciated retreats at Camp Weed pre-COVID.

Register for the 181st Diocesan Convention

Registration for the 181st Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, which will take place at Camp Weed & Cerveny Conference Center, is open.


The convention will begin on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 5 P.M. with a Eucharist. After the service, we will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Camp Weed with a special dinner and entertainment. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to spend time together and build strong fellowship.


On Saturday, June 21, 2024, we will continue with the business portion of our convention.



Limited overnight options are available at the camp and conference center.

Happening #151: Registration is Open!

Happening is a weekend renewal retreat for led by youth for youth. High school students put together an incredibly moving weekend filled with learning, sharing, and building relationships. Happening #151 is scheduled for September 16-18, and registration is open now.

Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, Camp Weed allows you to choose the tier that is the most suitable and affordable for your family. It is important for parents to understand that every participant receives the same experience no matter what tier is chosen.
