May 18: Annual Spring Community Bicycle Ride
Join the Cambridge Bicycle Committee and the Community Development Department this month for our annual spring community bicycle ride!

Date: Saturday, May 18, 2024

Time: Arrive between 8:309:00 AM; ride departs at 9:30 AM and returns by 12:00 PM

Where: Meet at Joan Lorentz Park in front of the Cambridge Main Library, 449 Broadway

Children comfortable riding their own bicycles are welcome, but we ask that very young children ride with their adults in trailers, seats, tag-alongs, cargo bikes, etc. If you do not have access to a bicycle for the ride, you may request a free Bluebikes pass for the day by sending an email to bluebikes@cambridgema.gov no later than Tuesday, May 14.

MassDOT Beyond Mobility Plan

MassDOT is collecting feedback for Beyond Mobility, the next Statewide Long Range Transportation Plan. The public comment period ends on May 5.
MAPC Bluebikes Ebike Survey

In December 2023, the Bluebikes bikeshare system began adding electric-assist bikes into the system. About 700 electric bikes are now part of the bikeshare system.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) is interested in learning how you are using the new electric bikes to get around the region. Provide your input through this brief survey!
CRA Forward Fund Grants

This year, the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA) has allocated $500,000 to the Forward Fund program, to invest in Cambridge’s non-profit community and provide funds to plan and implement capital projects.
 
Any non-profit organization in Cambridge that owns or operates community facilities can apply for a Capital Infrastructure or Feasibility Study Grant.

The Central Square Business Improvement District (CSBID) is crafting a five-year action plan, and we want your perspective. Your input will directly influence CSBID initiatives, from supporting local businesses to improving public spaces.
