Lights, Camera Prevention Awareness Contest
We would like to congratulate Ella Shepard, Autumn Klahn, Olivia Steines, and Mia Macke from Camanche Middle School on placing 3rd place in the Lights, Camera, Prevention awareness contest through Iowa State University! These four 7th grade students selected to focus on vaping and worked hard for a couple months doing research and putting their campaign together. They had to meet with staff from Iowa State University to ensure they knew how to gather scientific evidence/research and they were using correct facts. We are so proud of these students and how well they represented our coalition.
Lights, Camera, Prevention is a substance misuse prevention awareness contest, open to small teams of students who are in grades 6-12. This hands-on learning opportunity challenges student teams to learn more about substance misuse issues and prevention through research, collaboration, and production of a short video and/or audio public service announcement (PSA).
