Parental consumption shapes how teens think about and use cannabis
Turns out the old adage, “monkey see, monkey do,” does ring true — even when it comes to cannabis use. However, when cannabis use involves youth, it’s see, think, then do, says a team of UBC Okanagan researchers.

The team found that kids who grow up in homes where parents consume cannabis will more than likely use it themselves.

Washington State allows for free marijuana with Covid-19 vaccine
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of June 2020, 13% of Americans reported starting or increasing substance use as a way of coping with stress or emotions related to COVID-19. Overdoses have also spiked since the onset of the pandemic.

We now have states that have legal recreational marijuana using this as an incentive for people to get their COVID-19 vaccination. As a coalition, do we feel this is a good idea or is it putting more fuel on the fire?

Anheuser-Busch Teams Up with the White House to Support Goal of Getting 70% of Adults Partially Vaccinated by July 4th

Here is another example of incentives for the COVID-19 vaccination that are giving off the wrong message to youth and adding to the increase of substance abuse rates in adults.
