The Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a $379.5 million fiscal year (FY) 2025 general fund operating budget. FY 2025 begins July 1, 2024.

Following a comprehensive review process and public hearing, the approved budget reflects the county’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for all residents. The final budget will be made available at www.calvertcountymd.gov/FY25.

Now is the best time to prepare for emergencies associated with severe weather.

Residents are encouraged to be "weather-ready" for hurricanes and all types of extreme summer weather by knowing how to receive information and warnings, having an emergency safety plan, making an emergency kit and adhering to best safety practices during and after a storm.

Applications are being accepted for a new Student Safety and Well-being Advisory Committee (SSWAC). The committee will be charged with making recommendations to improve the learning environment and ensure the safety and security of students and staff.

Planting native trees supports local ecosystems and provides food and shelter for native wildlife. Tree coupons makes it easier on the wallet when adding more native trees to your yard!

The coupon can be used at participating nurseries for up to $50 off per tree, up to six trees. (Valid for properties outside the critical area.)
