ORANGE COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is celebrating the Clean California initiative with three family festivals in Southern California on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Clean California Community Day – Sustainability and the Arts

Mike Ward Park - 20 Lake Rd, Irvine, CA 92604

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This family-friendly event will include on-stage musical and dance performances, presentations and panel

discussions from local leaders in sustainability. More than 25 booths will be filled with Orange County’s

leading agencies to educate residents on sustainability and proper waste management practices. All ages

are welcome and will include games, prizes, touch-a-truck demonstrations, and food trucks.

City of Compton Community Beautification and Celebration Event

Compton College - 1111 E Artesia Blvd., Compton, CA 90221

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The city of Compton, Mayor Emma Sharif, Compton College, and Assemblymember Mike Gipson are

hosting neighborhood clean-ups around Compton College, a mini job fair, and a community celebration

featuring food, live entertainment and more.

Educational Event at Garcia Center for the Arts

Garcia Center for the Arts - 536 West 11th Street, San Bernardino, CA 92410

12 p.m. – 4 p.m.

The event will consist of art installations, gardening demonstrations, and litter reduction practices through

educational games and touch-a-truck demonstrations. Educational booths will be hosted by local non-profit

organizations from the San Bernardino and Riverside communities demonstrating their beautification efforts

and their effect on their community. This will help attract residents to “spring into action” to create a cultural

shift of shared responsibility and community pride.

The Clean California Community Days is an 11-day statewide celebration with the goal of working together to clean up our communities and generating pride to keep California clean. The event kicked off Friday, March 17, with a big splash of activities occurring on Saturday, March 25.

The Clean California Community Days is part of the Clean California initiative – a $1.2 billion multi-year investment by the state and led by Caltrans to improve California’s public spaces by removing trash, creating thousands of jobs and partnering with communities to reclaim, transform and beautify public spaces.
