Session I or Session II
"SOUL-KEEPING" - A guide to creating a daily time with God
Rev. Brian James
Senior Pastor, First Oviedo

One of the critical questions that John Wesley would ask when he gathered people together was, "How is it with your soul?"  Soul-Keeping is a tremendously important part of what it means to be a "follower" of Jesus Christ.  We often think of worship as attending a public service of worship, small group, or a Bible Study, but we can overlook one of the most profound times and places where God invites us into fellowship with Him.  We can find that in our set aside times of personal worship, attending to the altar of our hearts.

Jesus speaks to this opportunity to connect with God personally when He says:  When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.  Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (Mt. 6:6)  In our time together we will look at some methods and intentional behaviors to create prioritized personal worship as part of the daily rhythm of our lives.
