About Double T Tango

Double T Tango brings the beautiful and emotional sounds of tango to new and old audiences.  The orchestration of Double T Tango is composed of two violins, cello, bass, piano and bandoneon. 

Double T Tango originated from the growth of the tango culture in Lubbock, Texas and the students at Texas Tech University.  The musicians of Double T Tango are all professional musicians from Texas Tech Universities School of Music, which brings a great quality of sound and style in Double T Tango's sound.

Angela and Roy art gallery Angela Avila has well over 15 years of Tango experience, and she happens to be  a founding member of the SA TANGUERO GROUP that began in 1999! Angela met Frank Huddleston, with whom she shared the dream of bringing Tango to San Antonio, Texas. Terry Bauch, Frank Huddleston, Kathy Robertson, and Angela Avila started a group to practice among themselves and to offer a medium in which Tango could grow and become a passion for others because they believe that passion cannot grow without the opportunity to share it. 

In 2007, Angela Avila and Roy Montejano joined forces becoming an elegant and beautiful tango couple.  Together, they have well over 20 years of Tango experience. Today, Angela and Roy teach group lessons and private classes where they shair their Tango knowledge by teaching technique with an emphasis on fundamentals and form.  Angela and Roy's philosophy is "work on the foundation, make it strong, and everything else will fall into place."

Blues dancing is simply partner dancing to slower-tempo blues music.It's very focused on connection, creativity and improvisation over choreographed steps or patterns.
