God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
He does great things beyond our understanding

Job 37:5

Thoughts on Today's Verse
Isn't that a beautiful phrase! "God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding." Rather than spending a lot of time talking or thinking about how marvelous God is, let's praise him in prayer.

My Prayer...
Holy, Righteous, and Eternal God! You alone are truly and fully holy. I cannot but comprehend the distant outskirts of your ways, but I love you. You are so far beyond me on my best days, I can't quite understand why you would pay such a cost to redeem someone like me. But, Dear God, I thank you and praise from the bottom of my heart. In Jesus' name. Amen.
In Christ Alone
Because He Lives
From the Upper Room
When I became ill and my business failed, I was abandoned by people who were close to me. Some people thought that I must have committed a great sin and was being punished for it. Some people advised me to seek healing from another god. I lost hope and complained to God, “Why should I experience all these things? Why did you not immediately lift me up and recover my business?” In the silence, God spoke to me through Elihu’s words in Job 37. After tragedies befell Job, most of Job’s friends came with a variety of advice and opinions. But Elihu talked about God’s power. This scripture reminded me that we can see God’s power and glory in the universe through creation. God’s wisdom is unfathomable, and God does great things beyond our understanding. God restored Job and blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the first. (See Job 42:12.) The story of Job helped me to continue to trust in God despite my hardships. God also restored me and blessed me, as God wants to restore and bless all of us.

Prayer: Dear God, teach us to see your glory and to give thanks for your faithful love and care. Amen.

Remembering the 500,000+ and Their Families
Amazing Grace

(my chains are gone)
We are saddened by the deaths of so many of our fellow citizens. We join everyone across our nation in mourning .

We pray for their families, friends and all those they influenced either directly or indirectly. That they may keep close the positive memories of those they have lost and carry on with their daily lives in peace..

We pray for protection for the vulnerable the elderly, the poor, those with health issues and all who at risk..

For doctors and scientists diligently working to heal the sick.

For all persons on the frontlines, especially Alayne Snyder, Dr Johnny and Riny Kovoor. and Erik Lindholm who are risking their lives to help those who are sick and dying
Prayer Through The Ages
In weakness, O Lord, be our strength; in our sinfulness, pardoning love; in our need, all sufficient grace. In our anxiety, be to us both stillness and rest and at all times be to us the fullness of blessing; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Prayers and Prayer Requests
O Love most powerful grant us your strength. O Love most sweet let us taste your goodness. O love most faithful let us rejoice in your presence. O Love most victorious persevere with us to the last; for Jesus sake...

May we act with humility to not just preserve our own safety and health, but to look beyond ourselves and think of how our actions will affect others.

May we be alert to the ways we may help those around us, and give us the grace to step forward without hesitation to be men and women for and with others, for Your greater glory.

We ask for guidance for parents, children, youth and teachers adjusting to new ways of learning.

For Mary and Tom Kovoor who ask for prayers for the family of Siby Cherian. Tom’s cousin who passed away unexpectedly last week.

For friends who have moved afar but are still close in our hearts: Marilyn Van Tine, Pauline and Marty Bluver and their entire family and Erna Burton.

For the Reinhardt family, Sophia Kovoor, Sean Hitch, Kathy and Mike Weinlein and all of our friends who call Valhalla home but are scattered to other states and around the world at the present time.

For your blessing on our church and all churches, pastors, staff, and congregations as we offer your Love and Grace to all and to receive the financial support to do so.

That the Holy Spirit will move among us and through us to find new opportunities to be your faithful disciples and spread the love of Jesus Christ in the world.

For those prayers too personal to share with anyone but You.

We offer our thanks and praise that You are with us, we are not alone!

We offer to praise you for the many blessings you have given to us.

Protecting God, when we fall, you quietly pick us up; when we fear, you gently hold on to us; when the future looks bleak, you nudge us onwards, until at last we find ourselves in the place you would have us be. Amen
