Thoughts on Today's Verse
God's story through the history of his people, Israel, is one of triumph, protection, and faithfulness. God is with us. God cares for us. God hears our prayers. God longs to bless and protect us. God longs to strengthen and uphold us. Let's put our hope in him.

Ash Wednesday - Preparing the Ashes
Ever wonder why the ashes placed on your head on Ash Wednesday don't fall off?
Pastor Kevan tells us why as he shows us how he makes them every year.
Today's Prayer & Prayer Requests
Prayer Through the Ages
Be light, O Lord, to our eyes, music to our ears and contentment to our
heart. Be sunlight in our day, food at our table and rest to us in the night.
Let us rejoice to be about your business and let us live to your praise
and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer of the Day
Loving Father, we know that there are many times that fear has replaced faith in our hearts, yet why should we fear when You have told us so many times to fear not? Thank You for Your promise to be with us always, to strengthen us, to be with us and to uphold us with Your righteous right hand, for which we thank You and bless Your holy name. In Jesus name we pray:

Remind us often, Lord that we are chosen to share the good news, and point the way to you.

For families with young children at home for the foreseeable future: God, help mothers and fathers to partner together creatively for the care and flourishing of their children.

For single mothers and fathers, grow their networks of support.

For parents who cannot stay home from work but must find care for their children: God, present them with creative solutions.

Remind us often, Lord that in our labours we can show your love in everything we do

For our local, state, and federal governments: God, help our elected officials as they allocate the necessary resources for combating this pandemic.

For consumers of media, looking to be well-informed: God, help us find the most helpful local information to equip us to be good neighbors. Keep us from anxiety and panic.

For workers in a variety of industries facing layoffs and financial hardship: God, keep them from panic, and inspire your church to generously support them.

Remind us often, Lord that through your power we can do all things, your Spirit sets us free.

For the safety of our friends working the Covid19 front lines: Alayne Snyder, Dr Johnny and Riny Kovoor. and Erik Lindholm.

For those with mental health challenges who feel isolated, anxious, and helpless.

Remind us often, Lord that we are chosen to live by your Word and reveal your glory!

For friends who have moved afar but are still close in our hearts: Marilyn Van Tine, Pauline and Marty Bluver and their entire family, Barbara and Charlie Cassidy and Erna Burton.

For the Rhinehardt family, Sophia Kovoor, Sean Hitch, Kathy and Mike Weinlein and all of our friends who call Valhalla home but are scattered to other states at the present time.

For those prayers close to our heart.

As we prepare for Ash Wednesday and the Lenten season, guide our actions so they line up with Your will. Through Jesus the Christ we pray. Amen.
