Prayer Through the Ages
Looking to Jesus, let us run the race that is set before us.
Rooted in the faith of the saints, let us keep an even pace.
Grounded in catholic love, let us rejoice in God’s grace. Amen.
John Wesley (1703-1791)
Prayer of the Day
Holy Lord, you are worthy of majesty, honor, and praise. We lift up your name, O God, and place it above every name. As we look to the future, we want to honor you and journey with you there. Since we believe you will never leave or forsake me, we will always look ahead to find you leading the way. Through Jesus we pray.
For the safety of our friends working the Covid19 front lines: Alayne Snyder, Dr Johnny and Riny Kovoor. and Erik Lindholm.
For those with mental health challenges who feel isolated, anxious, and helpless.
For friends who have moved afar but are still close in our hearts: Marilyn Van Tine, Pauline and Marty Bluver and their entire family, Barbara and Charlie Cassidy and Erna Burton.
For the Rhinehardt family, Sophia Kovoor, Sean Hitch, Kathy and Mike Weinlein and all of our friends who call Valhalla home but are scattered to other states at the present time.
For families with young children at home for the foreseeable future: God, help mothers and fathers to partner together creatively for the care and flourishing of their children.
For single mothers and fathers, grow their networks of support.
For parents who cannot stay home from work but must find care for their children: God, present them with creative solutions.
For our local, state, and federal governments: God, help our elected officials as they allocate the necessary resources for combating this pandemic.
For consumers of media, looking to be well-informed: God, help us find the most helpful local information to equip us to be good neighbors. Keep us from anxiety and panic.
For workers in a variety of industries facing layoffs and financial hardship: God, keep them from panic, and inspire your church to generously support them.
For those prayers close to our heart.
Nourish our souls–our minds and emotions, and our bodies with Your Word, Your love and the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
