At an in-person event on Feb. 2 at the Kool Family Center from 9-10:30 a.m., leaders from the Cities of Albion, Battle Creek, Marshall, and Springfield, as well as Calhoun County, will share highlights from 2023 and what's to come in 2024. Special Deputy K9 Nico

In a series of posts on Facebook, the Sheriff's Office introduced its newest Special Deputy K9 Nico. He is working with Deputy Dave Winder, who also owns retired K9 Rocket. K9 Nico is trained in explosives detection and suspect tracking, and he is 2 years old. Click to learn more about money raised for the Calhoun County K9 unit.

County's New Corporation Counsel

Kate Ambrose has accepted the position of Corporation Counsel, which was approved by the Board of Commissioners at the Jan. 18 meeting. She will begin in this role on Feb. 2. Kate has served as the Calhoun County District Court Administrator/Attorney Magistrate since 2014 and previously worked in the Prosecutors Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. 

The Calhoun County Chief Judges of the 10th District Court, Calhoun County Probate Court, and 37th Circuit Court announced the appointment of Kris Getting as the newly created position of Court Administrator for all Calhoun County Courts. She will assume this position on Feb. 2.
