CV School Board At A Glance will be provided after each legislative board meeting. The most recent meeting took place on Tuesday, June 25, 2024
Board members provided updates about SHASDA, Pathfinder School, AIU 3, and Parkway West.
The Board approved the High School TSI Plan as submitted to the Department of Education. The TSI Designation functions as an early warning system for at-risk student groups and as a signal to schools that may be at future risk for more intensive accountability cycles by the PA Department of Education.
The board voted to adopt the 2024-2025 budget as presented by a vote of 5-3 (Yes: Brosky, Choura, Huehn, Mariano, Ohliger. No: Montani, Sexton, Trainor. Absent: Drury.) This budget does not include a tax increase.
A motion was approved to move $487,514 from the Capital Reserve budget to cover the principal and interest of existing loans for vehicles supporting student transportation and pick-up trucks for the facilities department.
The Homestead and Farmstead Exclusion Resolution was approved for real estate tax deductions beginning July 1, 2024. This reduction is funded by state gambling tax funds. Each property owner within the district will receive a reduction of $156.30 in school taxes, a 20% increase from last year.
The Board approved PASBO consultation services for school district transportation operations. For $10,000, PASBO will analyze current operations and make recommendations for improvement.
McCausland Consulting Services, Inc. was approved to provide business and operational services. This will fill the role of Director of Finance and Operations until a new Director is hired.
A travel request was approved for the Thespian Society to attend the State Thespian Conference at West Chester University in January 2025.
Fundraisers for 24-25 were approved.
The board approved the list of Booster Clubs for 24-25.
The GoFan App for Electronic Ticketing was approved.
The Board approved the HR Report.
The Board approved the following Budget and Finance:
A donation of a digital baby grand piano for the high school
Accept the 24-25 Grant Award for Western PA Learning 2025 Alliance–Grable Foundation
2024-2025 AIU School-Based Access Program Support Services
2024-2025 Day School Services Agreement
2024-2025 PATTAN Autism Initiative
Motion to approve the 2024-25 insurance policies for a total cost of $412,651.
Motion to approve the 2024-25 Student Meal Prices as follows:
$1.65 for Breakfast - PS, IS, MS, and HS
$2.85 for Lunch - PS and IS
$3.10 for Lunch - MS and HS
All students will get free breakfast.
Approve payments to charter schools in the amount of $7,173,057.59
