A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | |
April 15, 2024
Dear Colleague,
From all of us at CUGH, thank you to everyone who attended, spoke, sponsored, volunteered and worked on our 2024 annual conference which just concluded in March. It was wonderful to see so many colleagues from around the world sharing knowledge, learning, and building partnerships to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. CUGH2024 attracted more than 1400 registrants, 440 posters, and 230 speakers. In addition, 1200 colleagues attended 21 free, half day global health satellite sessions on March 7.
We are extremely grateful to all of you who traveled to Los Angeles, particularly those of you who came from afar. We know it is an enormous sacrifice in time & resources for you. We also extend our enormous gratitude to the members of our executive planning committee from University of Southern California (Prof. Sofia Gruskin and Dr. Megan Goulding), University of California San Francisco (Jeremy Alberga and Dr. George Rutherford), the University of Washington (Dr. Carey Farquhar) and the National Institutes for Health’s National Cancer Institute (Mishka Kohil Cira). I would also like to thank the sponsors whose generous support helps us to put on the meeting and enables us to subsidize every student and every attendee from an LMIC institution to attend our meeting.
Please look and share the plenary presentations and photos which are available here.
Finally I am immensely grateful to our team who worked tirelessly to put on the meeting: Dalal, Norma V., Sarah, Katie, Doris, Norma, Kareen, Edith, Rumaisa and Norma M. Keep your calendar open for CUGH 2025 in Atlanta Georgia, February 20-23.
Please forward this newsletter to your networks so others can benefit from it.
Best wishes,
