Arts Connect Summer Institute

Empowering Educators: Arts Connect Summer Institute Recap

We are thrilled to share the highlights from the recent Arts Connect Summer Institute, an initiative lead by the Museum of Children's Arts (MOCHA). This dynamic event brought together educators from across the city of Oakland for a day dedicated to fostering resilience through the transformative power of art and social emotional learning.

Reina and Yvonne of CUE led engaging sessions focused on equipping educators with practical tools and innovative approaches to promote resilience within their classrooms and communities. Through interactive workshops and insightful discussions, attendees explored diverse strategies for integrating art into their teaching practices, enhancing social emotional learning, and cultivating a culture of resilience.

Drawing from a community resilience model, participants learned how to leverage different artistic mediums and techniques to support the well-being of both students and educators. From visual arts to storytelling, each session offered valuable insights and actionable steps for creating inclusive and supportive learning environments.
