SAVE THE DATE!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

There is no need to wait for December 25th to celebrate love, peace, and the God who is with us! Christ is born every day, in and through us. We'll celebrate Christmas in July on July 14 with one worship service at 10 AM both in person and online.

Join us in your favorite Christmas attire (ugly sweaters/shirts encouraged). After the service, we’ll jingle and mingle with a potluck, fellowship, and a special “Melted Snow Day” (water play) for the young and young-at-heart. There will also be a shave ice truck for cool treats (11 AM - 12 PM). Bring your ‘ohana, a dish to pass, and a towel – and don’t forget your holiday spirit!

Attend Scholarship Reception

The CUC Women’s League invites ALL to a reception honoring this year's scholarship recipients.

It will be a time for awardees to meet members of the church and for us, as a congregation, to greet and congratulate these outstanding individuals!

The Women’s League encourages everyone to stop by to say hello, shake some hands, and have some refreshments!

Help Needed at Thrift Shop

Help! Our Thrift Shop ministry is short-handed this summer and in need of a few volunteers. The Thrift Shop is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Whether you can come for an hour or a whole day, we’d love to have you join us in this vital ministry!

If you are willing to bless the wider community in this way, please contact mary-herbig@centralunionchurch.org.

Youth Summer Plans

Got youth looking for something to do this summer? Every Wednesday this summer, the youth will volunteer at the Serving Aloha food distribution starting at 10 AM. Come join us – and add to your community service hours!

PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH

  • On this 4th of July when the United States celebrates independence, pray for the country and the continuous struggle for freedom and justice for all. May we also remember the history of the place we call home and pray for Hawai‘i where independence is still sought.

  • Pray for those embarking on new endeavors.

  • Give thanks for the ways God speaks through our everyday experiences and all that surrounds us, even Broadway musicals!

Readers Needed for Worship!

Worship is one of the heartbeats of our church – it is the work of the whole church community in praising God, hearing God's word to us and responding in faith. One way to help each other in our worship is by reading scripture and other parts of our service. It enhances our experience of worship when we can have different faces and voices leading worship.

If you are willing to read in a worship service, please join our pool of readers! Learn more and sign up by clicking HERE.

Beware of Email Scams!

Scams come in many forms, whether it's someone impersonating a church leader, or a stranger seeming to have a good deal for you on a special product or service. Please be cautious when checking emails! Know that church staff will never ask you to purchase something or give personal information. Often you can identify an email's authenticity by verifying the sender’s email address (CUC staff emails end with @centralunionchurch.org), but it's also possible for scammers to mimic email addresses. So if you receive any strange message at all and are ever in doubt, just delete it, don't reply or click on any links. You may call the church office (808-941-0957) to confirm.
