I truly believe that an organization is only as strong as its members, volunteers and supporters. The successes that we have enjoyed these past two years during the pandemic could not have been achieved had it not been for all of you. From our hard-working Executive Committee, members and faithful volunteers to all of the donors, supporters and participants in our events, WE THANK YOU!

Elizabeth Dixon, daughter of Anthony & Johnny Dixon, graduated from Alabama State University's School of Physical Therapy and is now Dr. Elizabeth Dixon.

Brittany Harrell, daughter of James & Valerie Harrell received her Doctorate in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior from Capella University.

Aria Ragas, granddaughter, of Bertha Ragas O'Neal, has been accepted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for graduate studies in Finance. Aria is a 2021 graduate of Howard University.

Angela Joi Dixon, daughter of Anthony & Johnnie Dixon is a principal at a charter school in Washington, DC.

Kevin Kindred, grandson of Joyce Vance, graduated from NC A&T with a BS degree in Music Education.

Coan takes special pleasure in congratulating our young people in their life's journeys.

CTA 2022 Scholarship Recipients

Carrington Blakley, daughter of Daphne Blakley, graduated from Woodland High School and is attending Tuskegee University majoring in Food, Nutrition and Wellness. Carrington is also a member of Tuskegee's tennis team.

Darrien Doster, son of Quincy & Latrina Coxton, graduated from Starr's Mill High School and is attending Reinhardt University majoring in Education. Darrien is on the football and track team.

Each recipient was awarded $1,000.

Chequetta Allen in the passing of her cousin, Vince Kearney.

Deborah Battle in the passing of her father, Jasper Battle.

Lee Bennett in the passing of his niece, Sharon Marion.

Janet Cooper in the passing of her aunt Marian Smith and her nephew.

Gwen Washington in the passing of her mother, Grace Washington.

Get Well Wishes

Ann Hart who recently underwent cardiac surgery and is at home recuperating.

Yvonne Thompson Rhodes who is currently recovering from a car accident.

James Simmons who is recuperating at home after spending a great deal of time with doctors. James hopes to be on the tennis courts before long.

Special thanks to the Hotlanta Summer Sizzler 2022 participants, volunteers and sponsors for a successful event. We could not have done it without you.

Chequetta Allen has been confirmed ALTA First Vice President/Secretary for 2023.

At the 88th ALTA Annual Meeting held on November 17, 2022, Wanda Haywood and Delphine Reese were recognized for 25 years of service and will now be included in the ALTA Volunteer Hall of Fame.

On November 4, 2022, CTA, partnering with Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB), hosted a tennis social at Sugar Creek Golf & Tennis Center. The event was well attended, and we raised $350.00 and collected 150lbs of non-perishable food. The donations were made to the ACFB.

Thanks to everyone who donated and a special thanks to USTA Southern for sponsoring Fall Tennis Fest.
