Park Rangers supporting Government Island Ask for Cleanup Help
On a recent cruise to Bartlett Landing CRYA Vice President Bernie Bacon struck up a conversation with Park Rangers as they loaded up their Tractor Barge. As they talked, she mentioned her work with CRYA and if there were things the boating community could do to help on the Island. Ranger Cowan said they would really like to see cleanup help from the Schwitter Docks down to Commodores Cove. He said that area seems to be the worst and any help would be appreciated. As a former Boy Scout and Leader, my family has always worked to pick up trash on the beaches and parks that we frequented. If we all did that, we wouldn't have any trash to look at or pick up. So, please when you are cruising to the Government Island Docks help out if you can. A bag of garbage is not a lot to ask for that wonderful dock resource. Take pictures and we can highlight the effort in our Newsletter! Thanks in advance for helping to keep this resource a shining example of our NW waters.
