Andrew Benedetto, RP, CRPO President Message from the President The town hall meeting held in Toronto last week was the first of four scheduled for October, and it was an excellent opportunity to connect with RPs, students and stakeholders. Town hall meetings are a valuable opportunity for both me and the registrar, Deborah Adams, to meet with members and hear your thoughts on the issues most important to you. Topics of discussion are determined, in part, by participant input. I very much look forward to meeting and hearing from members in Sudbury (October 16), Ottawa (October 23) and London (October 30). Registration is still open , so don’t miss out on these events. If you are not able to attend a town hall, a video recording of the Toronto event will be posted to the website shortly.

Clinical Supervisors Wanted

CRPO is in search of clinical supervisors who are willing to provide College-mandated supervision to Registered Psychotherapists in situations where supervision has been ordered by a panel of the Inquiries, Complaints, and Reports Committee (ICRC) or the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC). Typically, a panel orders clinical supervision when it has been determined that a member has not met a standard of practice.

Find out how to apply CRPO Recruiting Peer Assessors CRPO is recruiting peer assessors to carry out Peer and Practice Reviews, which help members improve their practice so that they meet or exceed the standards of the profession. Peer assessor Josée Brouillette, RP, says that she applied for the role for a few different reasons: "Working as a team to enhance the Quality Assurance process, learning new skills, meeting RP's with different practice sites/client populations and understanding how they apply the competencies and professional standards to those sites/client populations were all very attractive aspects to me…I wanted to ensure that my knowledge of the professional standards was of highest priority, and thought this would be a perfect way to ensure this.”  Peer assessors need five years’ extensive clinical experience and an interest in leadership. Gender Diversity at CRPO

Applicants to CRPO are now able to indicate a third gender identity option in their application form. Applicants can choose “male,” “female,” or “other,” and then indicate, if they so choose, another gender identity. Current members of CRPO who wish to change their gender identity in our database are invited to leave a note for staff via their member account to arrange to have that change made.

Annual Report Now Available

Members of the public and of CRPO are welcome to read our 2017 – 2018 Annual Report, now available online .

Two New Resources Need to change your email or employer info with CRPO? Download our new Public Register Update Form, fill it in and post it to your member account. A new DCC Confirmation Form is now available on the CRPO website, making the process of confirming those hours much simpler for employers and supervisors.

Upcoming Council Meeting The next meeting of CRPO Council will take place on November 29, 9:30 - 3:30 at the CRPO office . Want to attend? Be sure to register ahead of time and review the guidelines on attendance . Seating is limited and so you are asked to ensure you have a confirmation before attending!
