The June 5th CREWNY Members Only Luncheon, held at the historic Harmonie Club on East 60

Street, included a keynote address by Purnima Kapur, Executive Director of the New York City Department of City Planning, who shared her personal and career story as well as exciting future plans for development in the five boroughs.

Two CREWNY Members Awarded Scholarships to Attend
2018 CREW Network Convention.

|
CREW New York is pleased to announce that Ashley Grebow and Kasey Pace have been awarded scholarships to attend the CREW Network Convention & Marketplace on October 17-19 in San Diego, CA.
The recipients were announced at the Members Only Luncheon by president-elect Marianne Mathieu, Fidelity National Title Group (left) who oversaw the nomination and selection process.

2018 Summer Series "Leading Ladies of Real Estate"
Kicked Off on June 13th

CREWNY's annual summer talks by Leading Ladies of Real Estate began the 2018 series with guest speaker Suri Kasirer, president, Suri Kasirer LLC. With her lifelong commitment to championing people, progress and policy, Suri grew her business into the #1 lobbying firm in New York City. Shown with Suri (center) are Beth Zafonte of Akerman, which is wholly sponsoring and hosting the summer series, and CREWNY president Jaimee Nardiello, Zetlin & De Chiara.

Christine Chipurnoi, MS, CPCU, RPLU, Senior Vice President, National Real Estate, Construction and Hospitality Practice, USI Insurance Services and a past president of CREWNY, is a new inductee in the CREW Visionary donor recognition program.
The CREW Visionaries program acknowledges an individual’s commitment to support CREW Network Foundation’s mission to advance women in the commercial real estate industry.
Christine was recognized at the Spring Leadership Summit in Cleveland and will receive her pin at the Convention in San Diego.

Born into a family that has been in the contracting business for decades, the building industry has always been an important part of
Jaimee Nardiello
’s life. CREWNY's 2018 president, a partner at
Zetlin & De Chiara
and an active litigator, Nardiello has carved a niche for herself in construction, protecting the rights of owners, developers, design professionals, contractors and other members of the industry. Her work has set precedents, with decisions changing the course for future clients and real estate industry members.

is a principal and co-leader of

Her project experience spans several industries, including massive commercial developments to university expansions and infrastructure improvements. While O’Connor has played an integral role in large-scale developments, what truly sets her apart is her commitment to supporting, mentoring, and empowering women including co-founding Women@Langan.

Fran Delgorio
, a past president of CREWNY and recipient of its Founders' Award, is a 35-plus year veteran in the commercial real estate sector. In June 2009 she joined
Jack Resnick & Sons, Inc.
, as Managing Director and is responsible for the leasing and marketing for their midtown Class A office properties as well as retail space. Her background includes expertise in institutional investment, development, corporate real estate, portfolio management and leasing.

(MVS),
Diane Viggiano
co-manages the firm’s quality control and appraisal staff development programs, as well as serving as an appraiser. She joined MVS from New York Community Bancorp, Inc. where she served as vice president, senior commercial review appraiser, commercial loan division. She also served as a senior appraiser with Appraisal Consultant Corp. for 11 years.

Theresa Garelli Appointed President of Astor Title Services
|
Past CREWNY president Theresa Garelli, a veteran of 35 years in the title insurance industry, has been appointed president of NYC-based Astor Title Services, LLC. She will head a growing team of experienced title insurance executives who specialize in providing meticulous practice and customer service to lenders, builders, developers, attorneys and other real estate professionals.
Garelli previously served as Astor Title’s executive vice president and general counsel and has closed all aspects of major commercial and residential transactions in New York, throughout the United States and internationally.

The Internet and Social Media Transform Design
Architects and designers gathered at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) at Jacob Javits Convention Center on May 21
st
to learn about “The Impact of the Internet on the Design Professions.” The panelists were four top women marketing and design professionals - Kenne Shepherd AIA, LEED AP, Principal of Kenne Shepherd Interior Design Architecture PLLC; Joy Habian, VP of Marketing at the Durst Organization; Christiane Lemieux, Founder and CEO of The Inside and DwellStudio; and Malene Barnett, Creative Director of Malene B Atelier.

The panel agreed that the Internet and social media have been a game changer in the way the design team, client and end-user interact and in the marketing of projects, design services, and products.
