The Smiles Abound at the Spring Recovering Warrior
Sailing Regatta
|
|
CRAB is proud to serve those who have served our country and given more than most to protect it. Our Spring Recovering Warrior Sailing Regatta was held on Saturday, May 14. The day had very light winds and plenty of fog but the warriors and their families did a fantastic job of mastering light-air racing with only two boats bumping at the starting line during four races (names withheld to protect the guilty party).
Congratulations to RADM (ret) Tim McGee, Paul Van Cleve, warrior Seon Hollett, warrior Seon Hollett, and Carol Lazzaro for taking first place. Special acknowledgment goes to Kolton Whalon for winning the Spirit Award in exemplary fashion by cheering on his mother Megan and crew for two hours. After winning the Spirit Award, Kolton gave his 2nd place medal to his favorite CRAB crew member Maude Laurence. This kid is going places!

ABC Capital Campaign Update
The campaign for the Adaptive Boating Center is well underway. CRAB is very fortunate to have so many generous donors supporting the premier facility in the country for people with disabilities. However, our work is not done. CRAB continues to face increasing construction costs and supply chain issues. Your support continues to be essential to the completion of the Adaptive Boating Center.
Thank you to the 132 donors who have contributed to the campaign and raised $2,487,146 in gifts and pledges. CRAB needs to reach the $3M mark to meet expected construction costs. To help make the vision a reality, please contact Debbie Daugherty, Director of Development
