Dear Friends,
Last week, I was asked when our CPC Centers were going to re-open. I want to make it clear that our ministry never closed. Though our service delivery model has had to change, we have continued serving women in new and inventive ways since the first days of the pandemic.
Like so many other institutions, we have not been able to gather in our buildings, but we have still been able to serve. Our Help-Line has been receiving calls 24/7. We have delivered help to the homebound and have provided curbside pick-up of diapers, wipes, formula and other supplies. CPC has also provided sonograms to abortion pill reversal clients, abortion-minded clients, and clients seeking pregnancy verification for medical assistance. Just this month, we have seen 5 women for sonograms.
We have also used these months of modified service to upgrade our client and donor management systems and redesign our web presence to enable us to communicate better with our moms and supporters. We have developed a new virtual education program, with courses offered in English and Spanish, to help our clients learn vital life skills. We are rethinking our traditional in-person events and planning virtual fundraisers. And, last but not least, we have been working hard to support the on-going construction efforts at Howard St., which have miraculously proceeded throughout the COVID shut downs.
As you can see, CPC never closed! In fact, we have been busier than ever. We are all wondering when it will be safe to gather again in one place. Until then, please gather with us in prayer. Please gather with us on the website, through the newsletter, and on social media. Please gather with us in heart, mind and spirit as we seek God's will in our work in these exceptional times. Please let everyone know that we are open and working hard to promote life!
Many thanks, Gina

As you can tell from the pictures, progress is happening! At this point the flooring is complete, interior paint is finished, cabinets are in, wood doors are being installed and ceiling tiles are dropped. We are waiting for the ceiling inspection. Best of all, the A.C. is on!!
According to Dan Schwab, our project manager from
Plano Coudon Construction
, as feared there will be a slight delay in finishing construction. We are waiting on the glass storefont. Once the glass is installed, all that remains will be windows, exterior paint, the front rolling shutter, and final touch-ups. Then things will start to get really pretty when the furniture is delivered!
As we approach completion, we would like to give special recognition to supporters who have generously provided construction material.
These faithful supporters have helped offset our construction costs. This is a true example of how generosity saves lives. May God richly bless these businesses, their leaders, employees and families.
We expect construction to be completed in September!!

Pray for Howard St. Construction!!

Many of you may already know Kate Plaut: she worked at our Essex center from 2011-2016. Since then, Kate has continued to work at pregnancy centers in Westminster, Hanover and Gettysburg. Kate is a registered nurse and has been performing limited OB ultrasounds for over 10 years. Once she learned about our new location, she knew that God was calling her to serve His moms at Howard St.
Kate and her husband David recently moved to Glyndon. David works for Hopkins in the Finance Department. They have four grown children and a horse. For fun, Kate enjoys riding at least once a week and since the move she has found a new interest in gardening.
We are so happy to welcome Kate as our Nurse Manager at Howard St. She would love to hear from you:
email address .
Please pray for Kate as she begins this new leap of faith.

Meet Daniela and her 4-month old son. She also has two older boys ages 2 and 7 years old. Obviously, she's very busy! Daniela is a new CPC mom. During the early days of COVID, she contacted Allison Benson, our Arbutus Center Coordinator. We were able to help Daniela with supplies for her newborn son and, at the same time, she signed up for BrightCourse.

Daniela is now our BrightCourse "Super Star"! She has completed more lessons than any of the 16 moms participating in the program. Daniela is from Guatemala. She speaks English well but, as reading is a challenge, having the courses available in Spanish makes her participation possible. She loves the courses and is learning much that she did not know. According to Daniela, the most helpful course has been "Car Seat Safety." She was surprised that the boys' car seats needed adjustments. Daniela and her husband quickly fixed that!
With three boys, once she puts them to bed, she will work on 1-2 BrightCourse lessons each week. Daniela recommends the lessons to any mom, as she said, "You can always learn something that you didn't know." This time of social distancing can be very lonely for moms. Daniela is looking forward to meeting in groups with other CPC moms. We hope that Daniela will be able to mentor other moms.
Thanks to all of our supporters for helping make the delivery of these important lessons possible.
