Re: Shelter in Place and similar
Most states have or will issue orders or recommendations for people to shelter in place, remain at home or other similar terms. Many of these are or will be very extensive and comprehensive while others will be basic and plain. All of them will include critical infrastructure and essential services exclusions. These include the very important (and in many cases life sustaining) services we offer the members.
The mission of NEMT will not be interrupted by these orders. We have been in constant communications with state agencies as well as our clients to ensure that our members will continue to receive transportation to address their medical needs.
Many providers have expressed concern about violating these orders and have requested a letter explaining the nature and purpose of their essential services. To assist with this please provide the attached document to your employees, drivers and vehicles.
