A Tasting of Legendary Sicilian Wines from Azienda Agricola COS
Join us on tomorrow for a tasting of whites and reds from one of the most thrilling natural wine producers in Sicily. In 1980, three friends joined together, gathered grapes from their parents' vineyards and experimented with maintaining the unique character of the Sicilian terroir. They achieved success by adopting a very hands-off approach in both the vineyards and in the cellar. For some of their wines, they use an ancient method of fermenting in large amphorae buried underground. One of their white wines, Pithos Bianco, is aged this way and is considered one of the best orange wines available. For red lovers, Cerasuolo di Vittoria will make your mouth water with its charming spicy red cherry fruitiness and distinctive earthy character.
13 has been one of the few establishments that has relentlessly carried these wines as their availability allowed over the past decade. For your tasting pleasure, we will present an amazing line-up of these two wines plus three other extremely fascinating treasures. And for a rare treat, these wines, which have virtually no retail exposure in the state, will be available for purchase to take home at a special one-day-only retail price.
