PRINCIPAL CORNER
May 16
It is hard to believe that next week is our final week of the school year! All students have learned so much, but I am sure they are ready for summer vacation to begin!
To keep student skills sharp this summer, Language Arts and Math practice has been prepared by each teacher! All summer assignments are being sent home in a yellow folder labeled “Summer Work” today, Thursday, May 16th. These assignments are meant to be a review of important concepts covered this school year that will help each student transition well into their next grade level. Summer assignments will be due to school no later than Tuesday, September 3rd and are mandatory for all students.
Next week is our eagerly anticipated Field Day event! Please reference the flyer below for more information. Your student’s Field Day shirt will be sent home next Monday, May 20! This shirt is to be worn with gym uniform bottoms and tennis shoes on Tuesday, May 21! Lunch will be provided from Chik-Fil-A; however, if your student does not want or like this option, please pack their lunch!
We will hold a last day of school prayer service and awards ceremony on Friday, May 24 at 10:00 in the church. You are invited to attend! Following this ceremony, students will be in the playground parking lot and can be dismissed to families at that time. Please see the flyer below for more information.
We had many exciting opportunities this week:
- Visitors from the CHUH library distributed materials for the summer reading program!
- We had our final Faith Family gathering of the school year!
- Our third graders will lead the annual May Crowning prayer service tomorrow!
Next week, we can look forward to:
- Many exciting Field Day activities!
- Our annual 8th grade versus parent kickball game!
- Celebration of our students and a successful school year!
Only one more Monday to go; we can do this!
