I hope you had a fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day! We are almost to our Spring Break! 

The deadline for our Easter candy fundraiser is quickly approaching tomorrow, March 22! Please reference the flyer below for more information regarding the ordering process. This fundraiser is a great way to support COS while preparing for the Easter holiday!

I would like to congratulate the student participants in the NEOSEF Science Fair at Cleveland State University! Students received the following awards:

• Honorable Mention in Health Medicine 7/8 & Lerner College of Medicine:  Allie Murray
• Honorable Mention in Chemistry 7/8:  Billy Autero, Jayden Salazar, Maggie Thomas
• Second Place Chemistry 7/8 & William R. Sweet Award for Chemistry : Josie Daher
• Second Place Physics 7/8: Owen Pesta
• Third Place Biology 7/8: Rafael Koonce

These students exemplify the strong academics Communion of Saints School prides itself on. Wonderful work!

We had many exciting opportunities this week:

• Kindergarteners made shamrock shakes in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!
• Faculty and staff met with Father Anthony for a listening session!
• We will conclude our third quarter tomorrow!

Next week, we can look forward to:

• Lenten confessions for grades 6-8 will take place.
• Grades 4-5 will attend their trout release field trip!
• We will begin our Easter Break!

Solar Eclipse- Monday, April 8- No School

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.

The news has been reminding everyone about the need for safety when viewing the eclipse. We are sending home eclipse glasses today with your student(s). Review  these safety guidelines froom NASA.
