Safety Moment - Siblings on Camping Trips

Scouting's safety policies are set for many reasons, but an important part is ensuring that youth are participating in the appropriate activity for their age and with the other participants appropriate for their age. In the past, adults would sometimes bring their other kids not registered in the program as "tag-alongs" for trips, but newer Scouting policies no longer allow this.

The current policy is that "Youth who are not registered in the unit may not accompany parents or siblings in camping programs of Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouting." Cub Scouting is a family program and siblings are allowed.
