Before our students finish their final exams and run out screaming, "Schools Out For Summer," we would love to spend another memorable day with them at our End-of-the-Year Celebration. This year, our 7th-grade CMS Dragons will head to Main Event, where they can have a few hours of pure fun with their friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Mark Your Calendar: Wednesday, May 15

It's as simple as two steps. 1) Ticket 2) Waiver

We eagerly anticipate the presence of all our CMS Dragons at this year's End-of-the-Year Celebration. The last few years have been a blast with students and teachers playing games, bowling, and strategizing together in the laser tag gym. The students' presence makes these events truly special, so let's make more unforgettable memories together.

Everything 8th Grade

Guest Parking, Arrival, and Seating

  • Doors will open at 12:45 pm for parents to grab seats and get comfortable before we begin our program.
  • ALL guests must pre-register using the RSVP link.
  • Overflow parking will be in the Gateway Parking Lot. Please do not park in a fire lane or block our bus lane in the rear of the building.
  • Guests will enter through our gym doors near the football field. You will see a sign and be guided to the correct door.
  • We are requesting families bring no more than two guests per student. By doing this, we will have a seat for everyone instead of guests needing to stand for an uncomfortable hour and a half.
  • We will livestream the program so guests who cannot attend can view the ceremony. The link to the ceremony will be provided at a later date.

Pictures and Promotion Attire

Make those hair appointments and pick that perfect

outfit! 8th-grade promotion is dress to impress. Our photographers will be ready for two key moments of our promotion day.

We want all 8th graders to be part of

this special picture. 😀

Individual Student Pictures will be taken after each Dragon walks across the stage. A link for these images will be provided.

Our CMS backdrops and decorations will remain up for family and friends to take photos following the ceremony.

On May 16, our 8th graders will arrive at school at the normal time. Students will check into their promotion ceremony staging classroom, where students have reported to in prior weeks. After attendance is taken and final announcements are made, ALL 8th graders will practice lining up and entering the gym as they will do on promotion ceremony day. After we practice our ceremony, we will leave for Pinstack.

It’s all in the details: Field Trip Itinerary

Students will enjoy some food and fun at Pinstack before returning to school at 1:30 pm. Students will not return to regular classes when we return to campus. They will be able to relax and enjoy time with friends.

Important to remember:

  • Students represent CMS, even when away from our campus.
  • Students are expected to be in dress code and follow the CISD Student Code of Conduct.
  • Students may want to bring extra money if they plan to play premium games or participate in any games outside our “play package” for students.

Gifted and Talented Identification Process

The window has opened for new CISD students who wish to sign up for qualification for gifted and talented services. Students will be assessed initially using the CogAT and ITBS tests. Please see the schedule below to plan your family’s schedule. Students must take all 4 tests. There are no preparation materials available for these assessments. In addition to the testing, students entering grades 7 and 8 who have not yet been identified as gifted and talented must be nominated by a parent, teacher, counselor, community member, or themselves. It is not necessary for a student who is already identified as gifted and talented in Carroll ISD to participate in testing again.

To begin the identification process, please complete the CISD Middle School Gifted and Talented Nomination and Referral Form by July 26, 4:00 pm.
