Solar Eclipse Event Volunteers Needed

CMS has an EXCITING day planned for the upcoming solar eclipse AND we need a lot of APPROVED CISD volunteers to make this event possible!

Volunteers should be at CMS no later than 12:45 pm. We will get everyone in place, have a brief meeting then then get the show on the road! ALL volunteers need to be able to commit 12:45 – 2:00 pm.

** After collecting leftover glasses and passing out snacks inside, we would appreciate it if volunteers could come out and help us with monitoring on the field.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. THANK YOU!

Academic UIL Hosting Need

Parents, as you know, our Academic UIL Team is gearing up to compete for the title of champion for the third year in a row. Students have worked hard to prepare for our April 6 competition. This year, we will host the event and want to prepare our building properly to welcome over 500 students and coaches from around the area. We would greatly appreciate donations of any of the following items to help us have a stocked concession stand for students in our building from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.

You can send donations to school with your kiddo to bring to Mrs. Cashon or you can drop them off at the front office. Thank you for helping us make this the best event ever!

UIL Academic Concessions Sign Up Genius Form

Again, we appreciate your help with anything you can give. Items can be dropped off at the front office.

Gifted and Talented Identification Process

The window has opened for new CISD students who wish to sign up for qualification for gifted and talented services. Students will be assessed initially using the CogAT and ITBS tests. Please see the schedule below to plan your family’s schedule. Students must take all 4 tests. There are no preparation materials available for these assessments. In addition to the testing, students entering grades 7 and 8 who have not yet been identified as gifted and talented must be nominated by a parent, teacher, counselor, community member, or themselves. It is not necessary for a student who is already identified as gifted and talented in Carroll ISD to participate in testing again.

To begin the identification process, please complete the CISD Middle School Gifted and Talented Nomination and Referral Form by Friday, July 26, 4:00 pm.
