Are you or someone you know a veteran of the U.S. armed forces?
We want to hear from you!
Participate in our survey!

Over the Independence Day holiday, Americans celebrated with families and friends across the United States and other locations abroad. We should always remember those who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. armed forces. To ensure the safety of all Americans, military personnel serve on domestic soil, leave behind their loved ones, travel to foreign lands, and too often jeopardize their lives.  Following their military careers, they return to their communities and families, and are expected to reintegrate into civilian life; however, are often faced with unique challenges.

In partnership with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, CommonHealth ACTION launched a survey to better understand and learn more about challenges veterans face upon exiting the military and/or returning home.

We would like your help promoting our survey, which is a part of our Veterans' Mental Health research project.  If you and/or someone you know is a veteran of the U.S. armed forces of any era, regardless of discharge status, or whether you were deployed or not deployed, we encourage you to participate in our survey and share it among your networks. Please click HERE for a link to the survey that also provides a summary of the purpose, participant eligibility, and benefits for participation.

Using the Forward this email link at the end of this message, please share this information with all your networks. Thank you in advance and feel free to contact me at healthyveterans@commonhealthaction.org if you have questions.

Kindest regards,

Project Overview

CommonHealth ACTION and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology are conducting a survey consisting of U.S. veterans to learn and understand their experience

upon returning home and/or exiting the military.  We are seeking information on the types of support they have received, any challenges they have encountered, any unmet needs or service gaps that they have experienced, and their ideas about potential solutions to ensure all veterans are supported in their transition.

In the United States, there are more than 21 million veterans across all war eras.  As armed forces continue to scale back, the number of retiring and returning service members is expected to grow exponentially in forthcoming years, suggesting a greater demand to provide adequate support services for all veteran populations.  We hope the survey will inform veterans and their families, professionals helping veterans, decision-makers, and the general population about the unique challenges faced by U.S. military veterans as well as identify potential solutions to address these issues.
