Week of Juneteenth, 2023

Unfortunately high winds meant that there was a small craft advisory for Sandusky Bay this past Friday and we weren't able to venture out on the water as planned. Fortunately for us, our friends at All Ports Yacht Club had us covered and we had a good time visiting in the Venetian Marina Clubhouse before they fed us way too much. We all look forward to the actual boat rides, but we still had a great time. APYC members have been hosting this annual event since 1992! In all that time, we've only had 2 times (including this one) where weather didn't allow us on the water-- and we did have to skip the whole event

in 2020 & 2021 because of COVID concerns.

All in all, that seems like a pretty strong track record given Ohio weather!

John's usual--

Thanks to the APYC members (especially Joanne & Tom) for making us feel so welcome-- even if we didn't get out on the boats this year. We had a great time hanging out at Venetian Marina together-- and lunch (as always) was over the top! Good times for sure. We're very lucky to have such good friends (with boats)!

Also-- thanks for the N2Y Volunteers who were on the scene to lend hands wherever we needed them!

Just a reminder that CLI will be serving cake to whoever shows up to Rhonda White's sendoff party at the Firelands Local Workshop at 1:30 NEXT Friday, June 30th! It's your last time to give Rhonda a hard time (while she's on the clock anyway). Hope to see you there!

That's all I have for now. Thanks & have a great week!

John

Question of the week

Q: I heard that last week's boat trip wasn't accessible to people who use wheelchairs. Is that true? Does CLI offer boating opportunities to people who use wheelchairs?

A: It is true that last week's boat trip with All Ports Yacht Club was not wheelchair accessible because of the logistics at Venetian Marina. HOWEVER, CLI is very committed to helping anyone access the amazing natural resource that we have in Lake Erie and other bodies of water all around us. There are opportunities regardless of physical capabilities. Please let us know if this is something you want to explore further. CLI's #1 job is to help our clients pursue their unique interests. If you don't say it, we don't know it!
