Congratulations to
CJO Artistic Director
Paul Ferguson!
After an exhaustive search of candidates from California to NYC, the CJO is proud to announce the appointment of Cleveland native and long-time CJO band member/arranger Paul Ferguson as Artistic Director.

"Paul embodies all of the qualities the search committee had identified for our next Artistic Director," commented Joel Brotman, who headed up the search committee. "Paul's dedication to the band, to Cleveland, and to jazz as both a historic and ever-evolving art form were unmatched by any other candidate."

Paul replaces Sean Jones who served as CJO Artistic Director for five fantastic seasons. "We cannot thank Sean enough for his contributions to the organization and to Cleveland," says Colleen Sherman, CJO Executive Director. "During Sean's tenure the CJO experienced growth in our audience both in diversity and number, we would not be where we are today without Sean's initiative and dedication."

"We are very excited about the next 30 years and feel that Paul's vision will further CJO's mission and impact on jazz and in the community," added Sherman. "Next season promises to be our best yet!"

Big Bands & Broadway Swing!

Swing's the Thing

Saturday, March 21

8pm

Ohio Theater

Driven by the blast of the Big Bands and their hep star vocalists, the Swing Era was electrifying: From the mid-1930s through the end of World War II, millions of dance-crazed young people went crazy for the new sound, and the creators of Broadway and Hollywood musicals eagerly jumped on the bandstand. Our concert is a salute to a golden era in musical theater history, with songs including "This Can't Be Love," "Accentuate the Positive," "I Hear Music" and "Jeepers Creepers." And our marvelous Song Is You! trio led by Joe Hunter will be ramped up with five horn players from Cleveland Jazz Orchestra. Not to be missed!

Hosted by Bill Rudman, Joe Hunter and Paul Ferguson
Featuring Erin Keckan, Ray Porrello, Tony Sias, Bryan Thomas and members of Cleveland Jazz Orchestra

Enjoy a season 30 years in the making!
