CJI partnered with researchers from Austin Peay State University and the Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) to conduct interviews with a sample of jail staff across the state. This project was made possible through funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
CJI examined more than 700 statutes across 12 states. Laws included for study related to violent, property, and drug crimes, as well as parole release and technical violation practices.
