Seniors Kenyon, Ou earn top academic honors | |
Although Carrollton High School had a strong group of academic seniors this year, two students earned the prestigious titles of valedictorian and salutatorian.
Edward Kenyon earned the top honor — valedictorian —for finishing his career at CHS with the highest average, while Tyler Ou was recognized for earning the second-highest average to be designated the salutatorian for the Class of 2024. The announcement was made last week preceding the commencement ceremony.

Martin selected as finalist in Georgia's Poet Laureate contest
Carrollton High School Class of 2024 graduate Autumn Martin was selected as a finalist for her poem "Learner's Permit" in Georgia's Poet Laureate contest. Last week, Autumn attended a ceremony at the State Capitol where she read her poem, now published in the online edition of Atlanta Magazine. To read Autumn’s poem, click HERE.

Five CHS students graduate from Project SEARCH | |
Five Carrollton High School students — Malaysia Buchanan, Jahiem Blaxton Bennett, Jason Leake, Alondra Rivera Martinez, and Mary Sontay-Lyons — graduated from the Project SEARCH program last week. Project SEARCH is an internship program that provides training, education, and workforce development for students with disabilities. Through Project SEARCH internships, students gain skills and work experience by working in various settings like the University of West Georgia campus. Some of the graduates have already secured jobs, and others are in the interview process. Congratulations! | |

CHS juniors receive UGA Certificate of Merit, Wofford, and Presbyterian

Eight Carrollton High School juniors have achieved distinguished academic honors, being awarded the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, recognized as Wofford Scholars, and named Presbyterian Junior Fellows.
The students honored with all three accolades are Grady Bush, George Carden, Allen “Tee” Hawkins, Lily Honeycutt, Andrew Mills, Kendall New, Eli Slappey, and Luke Zimmer. These students exemplify the highest standards of academic excellence and leadership potential.

CMS celebrates students of the year | Carrollton Middle School students were selected as students of the year by their teachers for continually exhibiting one of the school's learning attitudes this school year. Wendy Whaley was recognized for her ability to Connect with others. Sameeha Aremu was honored for being Self-Motivated. Lucy Slappey stood out for her excellent Communication skills. Jonathan Diaz was celebrated for his Perseverance. Abigail Carden took Ownership of her learning, earning her recognition. Nand Patel was acknowledged for his Risk-Taking abilities, and Lucy McRae was recognized for her ability to Connect. | |
