Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Get Ready For CHPC's Garage Sale!

Volunteers are needed to ensure this event runs smoothly. Opportunities are available to serve throughout the week as individuals drop off donations and especially to help staff the sale on August 2 and 3. Many hands will make light work. Sign up sheets will be in the narthex or you may call the church office. Please speak with Doris Fields if you have any questions or concerns regarding the upcoming sale. Thank you for your support!

This Sunday in Worship: July 7, 2024

Seventh Sunday After Pentecost

Our Summer Sermon Series continues this week as we walk a difficult road with Jesus through his hometown before being commissioned to go out and minister in Christ's holy name. What does it mean for us to be called, sent, and given a mission to go and forgive others? Let's find out together as we join the Disciples in preparing to share the Good News, not just by what we say, but by what we do.

Sunday's Scripture:

Ezekiel 2:1-5, NRSV

Mark 6:1-13, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Called, Sent, & (For)Given"

Wish to worship with us again or during the week?

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

Members from CHPC had a wonderful time this past Sunday night at Hunter Wright Stadium seeing the Kingsport Axmen play ball! Thanks to all who joined us, and a special thank you to Brenda and Jonathan Hutchins for helping to organize this outing. If you have an idea of something fun to do with the youth or the entire church family, please speak with David and Tyler with your best pitch!

All Church Picnic this July

The entire church is invited on July 28 to enjoy a picnic and field day at Warriors’ Path State Park. We meet for food, fun, and games at 4pm under the big Pavilion on Duck Island. All are encouraged to invite friends as well as a side dish or dessert to share. Additionally, you may want a folding chair if you wish for a comfy seat throughout the afternoon as we enjoy different activities. Please spread the word and see you there!

Continued Prayers for the work of

the 226th General Assembly of the PC(USA)

The 226th General Assembly (GA) of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A, our denomination's highest council which meets every two years, gathered for the past two weeks in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Spirit was certainly with our commissioners who labored on our behalf to discern how God is calling our church to reflect and embody Christ here and now. The Presbyterian News Service maintains various articles about the events of GA, such as the election of our new Stated Clerk, Co-Moderators, and much more. Please continue to pray as the collective work of GA is sent out to the various presbyteries for discussion, review, approval, and implementation. Should you have any questions about what happened during the 226th General Assembly, or what may be happening in Holston Presbytery, please feel free to ask David. He would be delighted to share with you all the good news happening in our connectional church.
