Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Ministry Highlight: CHPC Youth Group

One of the most vital ministries of this church that can often go unseen is that to the youth of our congregation. Exciting things happen on Sunday evenings and I wanted to take a minute to shed some light onto what the Youth Group has been up to recently. This Winter and Spring, we have spent time taking a deeper study into topics such as forgiveness, prayer, and what it means to be a disciple. Our bible studies have been a place for us to gather around the word of God and to share with one another how we can make these practices a bigger part of our everyday lives.

Our youth have also made a point of emphasis to spend more time with the children of our church. They have been a great help on Sunday mornings downstairs with the kids. And they are excited to partner with our kids for this joint kid and youth event happening later this month. And this summer, we look forward to traveling to Montreat for the second year in a row for an awesome Youth Conference. This is such an enriching time for our students to enter into a new environment, explore a college campus, and to grow through sessions and small groups.

We have an amazing group of young people at CHPC. I am constantly impressed by how much they have grown in my time here. It is humbling beyond words that I get to spend time with them each week. Thank you for showing our young people love, acceptance, and support. If you would like to spend time getting to know our youth by volunteering with us on Sunday nights or you would like to learn more about how to best support this ministry, please feel free to reach out to me. Thank you kindly!

Grace and Peace,

-Tyler P.

The CHPC Youth Group hosts a Finals Study Party this Sunday, May 5, from 5-7pm in the Youth Center. We'll have breakfast for dinner with a coffee bar. Bring your books, homework, and notes and we will offer a quiet space for our students to prepare for finals and finish up those last minute assignments!

This Sunday in Worship:

May 5, 2024 - Sixth Sunday of Easter

We've all heard it said that "God is love" but have you ever wondered what the love of God really looks like in our daily lives? Do you desire a clearer picture about what it means when we talk about abiding in God's love? How are we to live that love out in the world? Join us this Sunday as we spend the next three weeks diving into John chapter 15 and tackling questions like these and more. We invite you to accompany us as we study and learn, with God's help, how to more deeply abide in the love of God!

Sunday's Scripture:

1 John 4:7-21, NRSV

John 15:1-8, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Abide in Christ"

Come share the Peace of Christ with coffee and fellowship before worship beginning at 9:30am in the Parlor!

Pentecost Fellowship Meal

Pentecost is on Sunday, May 19 and CHPC will celebrate with a congregational lunch after worship under the pavilion. All are welcome to enjoy this catered meal by our friends on CFL as we break bread together.

Holston Camp & Retreat Center Support Dinner

Part of the joy of being a connectional church is coming together to support the shared ministries of others we are blessed to serve alongside. Holston Presbytery Camp & Retreat Center is a beloved ministry partner of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and we were honored to host their annual spring support dinner in Holston Presbytery this past Sunday. The Camp was able to raise over $15,000 through this event! Thank you to all who came out to show their support and ensure that our children can enjoy time of fellowship and fun at camp this summer!
