Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that
values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,
you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!
A Pastoral Note
I wish to say thank you to the church again for all the love and support you have shown my family over the past month. It’s hard to image that over a month ago, little Andrew decided to join the church on Easter morning, but we are so glad that he did! You have been so good to us with gifts of food, diapers, cards, and prayers, and we are very grateful for all the kindnesses you’ve offered us; thank you!

Perhaps the greatest gift you’ve given me and my family is the gift of time at home for paternity leave. While there have been (and still will be) some sleepless nights, these past few weeks were a blessing for the health and well-being of our new family of five. Thank you for helping us make this time together a priority and for being a church that sets an example for others to follow. Thank you for welcoming us within worship as one of CHPC’s young families on Sunday mornings. It may sound silly, but it was so special for us to come to church together, for me to be able to sit with Cragon in the pews, and to worship God as a member of the congregation. It will be something I won’t forget anytime soon.

I’m so glad some of you got to meet Andrew this past Sunday and he will continue to be able to meet the church family that already loves him so well. Please know that the Randolphs love you and this church right back and that I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your pastor.

Gratefully,
- David

This Weekend at CHPC
The Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed build is this Saturday morning at 8:30am! The beds we build this weekend will be delivered to children in our community that don’t have a proper place to lay their heads at night. Also, don't forget that Sunday, May 21 (after church) is a Rain Date for this event. But, pray for good weather on the 20th! See you there!
The intergenerational Pop-up Bible study will be this Sunday May 21 at 4pm! All are welcome to participate as we discuss different images of the church in scripture. We will have a potluck dinner, so please bring an appetizer, salad, or dessert. Drinks will be provided, but contact Joanie Zimmerman or Gretchen Bentley with what dish you plan to share. You won't want to miss it!
May Session Summary
Your Session met Monday evening May 15. Items of interest included a report from Buildings and Facilities that upgrades to the church’s security systems are underway. These upgrades include installation of key-code locks on the two main front entrances of the church and upgrades to both internal and external camera systems. More information concerning these upgrades will be provided in the coming weeks. Missions will be conducting a “Build-a-Bed” event this Saturday (5/20) in the parking lot of the church. Missions is also looking for additional volunteer groups to stock the Blessing Box in front of the church in one-month rotations. The next Stated Session Meeting will be June 19 at 5:30.

In Christ,
David & Clark
Habitat Faith Build Updates
CHPC is participating in the 2023 Habitat Faith Build to help build Marquetta and her family a new home.  Due to some site preparation challenges, the schedule had to be adjusted and work delayed. As a result, CHPC has been asked to move our build week to June 7-10. Apologies for this delay, but we hope that you will still make helping out with Habitat a priority!

On the bright side, we have good news: we have reached our financial goal of $5,765 for this Habitat build! Thanks to everyone who helped to contribute in this way. But we still need help! A new signup sheet for our new build week has been placed in the Narthex. Please consider signing up to help serve in this vital ministry. We need 8 volunteers each day. If you plan to sign up, please also complete a release and waiver and return it to Mary’s box.

In the meantime, know that work is still moving forward. Please enjoy this updated picture reflecting the good work that has already been accomplished for this family in need! And thanks for your support!
