Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that
values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,
you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!
Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build
Get up Early. Build some Beds. Go home with Sawdust in Your Hair.

Our Missions Committee would like to say a big "Thank You!" for helping out with previous Bed Builds! And we invite you to be a part of our next Bed Building Event to be held in the Pavilion in just a few weeks. Beginning around 8:30 on Saturday Morning, May 20, CHPC will partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 25 Beds. The need couldn't be greater: these will eventually be delivered to Children in our community that don’t have a proper place to lay their heads. This is a growing missional opportunity of our church, as this will be the 3rd time partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, so we are fully prepared, we know what we need, and what to expect.

What we really need is You. The jobs that you will do includes: moving wood around from one station to another, cutting wood to specific sizes, sanding those pieces of wood, sanding more wood and sanding more wood, taking these sanded pieces of wood, drilling holes and assembling them into the components of a bed. And then dipping these components into a bath that provides a finish and finally branding SHP onto the head and foot boards.

What you can expect: Easy, not labor intensive work for only about 3-4 hours. It will be noisy, so earplugs will be provided and are highly encouraged. There will be a lot of wood dust in the sanding area, but dust masks will be available. If you have some wood working skills, you can actually build the components for the Bed. If you are like me, you will probably do a lot of sanding. There will be a break area that you can use anytime. It’s a good place to catch up and fellowship with your fellow workers. But most importantly, at the end of the Build, you will know that you have contributed in a very real way to improving the life of Children right here in Sullivan County.

There will be a Sign-up Sheet in the Narthex beginning Sunday Morning, May 7th. We need about 25 people and I really hope you decide to participate. We will use Sunday, May 21 (after Church) as a Rain Date for this event. But, pray for good weather on the 20th! Take Care and Thank You for showing God's Love through this ministry!

Presbytery wide Youth Event

Holston Presbytery Camp and
Retreat Center Work Day
Holston Presbytery Camp and Retreat Center is hosting a work day on Friday May 5 and Saturday May 6. to spruce up the camp and get it ready for the upcoming summer season.

The main work day will be on Saturday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. A list of projects to be completed, along with other details, can be found here. There is a $20 registration fee that will cover housing on Friday night, lunch, and cost of materials. You may adopt a particular project or help to underwrite the cost of one. This would be a great opportunity for groups as well as singles. Youth are welcome but must be supervised by an adult.

For further questions, you may contact the Executive Director, Dave Cohn, at dcohn@holstoncenter.org. Holston Camp is a special place for our church family, so please consider giving back so that our Presbytery Camp can serve the greater community. With your help, may this great ministry continue to be that same meaningful beacon to our next generation of campers.
Habitat for Humanity Faith Build
CHPC is participating in the 2023 Habitat Faith Build to help Marquetta and her family build a new home.  Marquetta’s sister died tragically leaving behind a 6 year-old son and 2 year-old daughter.  In 2021, Marquetta became the caregiver of her niece and nephew and is looking forward to providing a safe, affordable home for them and her 3 year-old daughter.  The build site is located at 2215 Friendship Circle in Kingsport and parking Is available along the street.

There are several ways you can support Habitat - with prayers, financial gifts, or service!  We currently have $2,965 in our Habitat account and would like to raise an additional $2,035 (for a total of $5,000).  We also need 8 volunteers each day on May 24-27 (week 2 of the schedule). Volunteers can sign up on the schedule located in the Narthex.  Please also complete a release and waiver and return to Mary’s box.  Thanks for your support!
Celebrating the newest Randolph!
