Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

What a Wonderful Way to

Ring in the New Year!

We had such a great time ringing in the New Year this past weekend as our church family came together for our first British New Year's Eve Bash! Thank you to everyone who brought food, shared games, played ping pong, and enjoyed a good spot of tea. Special thanks go to the members of CHPC's Congregational Family Life Committee for putting on such a wonderful event!

This Sunday in Worship: January 7, 2024

The Season of Christmas continues as CHPC celebrates Baptism of the Lord Sunday. Let us remember our baptisms as we learn together about this sacrament that Christ participated in at the beginning of his earthly ministry.

All are welcome to share the Peace of Christ with coffee and fellowship before worship beginning at 9:30 in the Parlor. Hope to see you there!

Sunday's Scriptures:

Matthew 3:1-12, NRSV

Matthew 3:13-17, NRSV

Don't forget that this week's worship service will include the celebration of communion, as we gather together around the Lord's table to proclaim the Good News of God's grace.

Annual Worship Volunteer Training

Are you interested in serving during Sunday worship? A worship volunteer training is scheduled on Sunday, January 14 after Sunday School at noon for anyone interested in serving as a liturgist, usher, or communion preparer. Lunch will be provided for all those who attend. This is a great way to jump into the life of the church! Please let David know you're interested in serving.

Last Call for Smile Angel Tree Donations

Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church partnered again with SMILE (Simple Methods In Loving Everyone) Foster Closet of Northeast TN with an Angel Tree this Advent season to support 10 foster children from Washington County. Thanks so much to everyone who picked an angel and brought back gifts for children! Don't forget that the tree's yellow angels represent specific items that SMILE needs to replenish their closet inventory that should be returned by this Sunday, January 7.

Blessing Box Highlight: January

Thank you so much for your support and stewardship of our Blessing Box! Because of your kindness, there are many people in our community who are being served with food and other necessities. For the month of January, we would like to emphasize the collection of can goods to warm the hearts and souls of our neighbors in need.

As a reminder, there are always collection boxes in the narthex for you to conveniently place donations. Please donate whatever you can, either from the list or items you think people in our community would see as a Blessing!

Thanks again for all you do to Love our Neighbors,

Your Missions Committee

Habitat for Humanity Women's Build

The Women's Ministry is sponsoring an outing on Wednesday, January 17 to join a Women's Build hosted by Holston Habitat for Humanity. This is a wonderful opportunity for women to work together and serve in their community. Volunteers will work under the guidance of construction professionals and alongside other volunteers to build a home for Chris, Christina, and their three children in Kingsport, TN.

Due to the activities planned for this date, volunteers must be at least 16 years old. To support Chris & Christina's building costs, there is a $25 Participation Donation. Women Build volunteers will receive a boxed lunch and a commemorative t-shirt. Any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us! No experience is necessary.

Click below to sign up. If you plan on attending, contact Brenda Clark so you can join the carpooling from the church, as there is limited parking on site.
