Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that
values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,
you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.
We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Dear Church Members,
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your unwavering support and generosity this past year. Your donations; whether monetary or essential food items, toothbrushes, and feminine products, have played a pivotal role in our church's mission to serve the community. We often get calls into the church office for aid, and the urgency and need in the lives of those in our very own community has never been greater. We try respond promptly to calls for this type of assistance and fulfill the needs of those seeking help. The impact of your kindness is evident in our ability to meet those requests via the Blessing Box and food boxes directly from the office that are given out to families with children. Your compassionate spirit makes a significant difference, and we are grateful for your ongoing commitment.
Thank you on behalf of Mary and staff!

Welcome to Our New Elders
CHPC ordained and installed a new class of Elders last week in worship. This dedicated group joins the other ten elders already installed on the session to serve as the spiritual leaders of our church family.
Special thanks to Jud Barry, Brenda Hutchins, Ann Johnson, Donna Whitson,
& Rob Wicker for accepting Christ's call to love and serve!
Please hold this group and the entire session in your prayers for the year ahead as they seek to faithfully follow where God's Spirit leads.

Habitat for Humanity Women's Build
This week the Women's Ministry braved the winter weather to partner with Habitat for Humanity! Eight of our church members joined in on the efforts being made in Kingsport with Habitat's Women Build. They spent time installing insulation and blocking. What a blessing to join in on the work being done to provide a home for a family in our own community!

Your Session met on Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024 after our annual leadership retreat rather than on Monday evening due to the expectation of inclement weather. The annual congregational meeting will be held on January 28, 2024 for the purpose of: reviewing the 2023 budget, receiving the 2024 budget, and approving the pastor’s terms of call. Session will meet for the next stated session meeting on February, 19th at 5:30 PM.
In Christ,
Clark Parker (Clerk) and David Randolph (Moderator)

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA)
Relief Effort in Israel / Palestine
| |
PDA seeks to find solutions to alleviate the human suffering happening in Gaza by supporting partners in Palestine and Israel who are responding to the needs of neighbors and strangers in their midst, no matter their religious beliefs, political views, or nationality. We are called to care for all of God’s children, especially those in war-torn communities, by responding to the urgent needs of those directly affected by the current conflict. Please pray for peace and safe passage for those seeking help and fleeing the ongoing chaos.
More can be learned about PDA's important work here by visiting their website. If you feel called to contribute financially, please do so through PDA's giving portal here. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers for peace!
